Well, it looks like you have your facts wrong. Soviet Union was not a nation, it was a Union, as suggested by the name.

Armenia, has been a country for centuries, in fact, it's one of the oldest countries in history. During the time when Soviet Union ruled, it was no different. Armenia was a country that was part of the Soviet Union. the EU is also a Union, and several countries are part of it, does that make European a nationality?

He is a Armenian citizen as well. Does German citizenship nullify his Armenian citizenship or something? He is Armenian citizen just as equally as a German citizen, so how can you say he is German nationality and not Armenian nationality if you're basing your answer on citizenship, which it looks like you are.
