Essentially it's a rematch clause. Look at it like this, if it's a Dibella show and Andre Berto makes a voluntary defense against Michael Jennings, there wouldn't be a rematch if Berto wins. No need for it from a business sense. If Jennings pulls off the win, the rematch would be immediate with greater financial incentives for Jennings to not bring the clause through litigation.

Its pretty common place that there is a rematch clause for the champion or more highly considered fighter (ie the one that has the most to lose) and not for the challenger. This isnt really newsworthy.

**** does he mean his legacy isn't on the line? I dont like roys approach to this fight. He seems to feel contempt with being the guy who "used to be the best" instead of trying to prove that he still is(like hopkins seems to be set on doing). His legacy is on the line to an extent and he knows it, maybe he cant hanndle that pressure so he's trying to dismiss a lose as nothing big.

                More motivation to win perhaps?

Roy Jones Jr. legacy is not on the line. Roy Jones Jr. was an ATG in 2003, and it shouldn't change due to late career losses. No one is taking Ray Leonard's legacy away because Terry Norris beat him. Like Brian Kenney once said, you judge a fighter on their prime.

There's nothing unusual about this at all. Joe calls the shots right now, Roy doesn't. End of story.

One more thing: Jones keeps saying the pressure is on Joe. Fine, but Joe very openly stated a number of times in his career that he enjoys pressure, it makes him fight much better.

Roy is the bigger name, even now.

                      Carry on.
