But the solution he showed he can find is pretty good. right? Hands up, and pressure. And boy does it work! (For the viewers too, since those 3 fights are among the most entertaining he is been in).

Like I said, I can see why you would pick winky, I just believe in versatility.
I definitely agree with you, although the big Judah left was about as straight as you can get.

And Corley shouldn't be mentioned here, because... well... I don't think Mayweather tried to show any defense in that fight. He fought a ****** fight in that fight, but... it was entertaining as hell!

Don't forget N'dou and Castillo I as entertaining fights... those are my two favorites.

Yeah, he really impressed me with his gloves up, come forward pressure against Judah. That was a really terrific display of adaptation on his part.

And while we are discussing the poison to a great defense, don't forget that Wright can't block those looping punches that well either. There is a reason when an ordinary Angel Hernandez fought an extraordinary Wright (still in his prime), Wright came out looking ordinary. It's because so many shots looped around and the guard and hit Wright on the side of the head.

Well in the Judah fight I saw it more as Judah's speed that he was landing at first. I mean one can argue how Winky's defense proved to be better in the Judah fight because Floyd was getting whacked by Judah and yet when Clottey faced Judah he ate every single one of Judah's punches into his defense and as you know Clottey has the blue print perfect same defense as Winky, so you can almost say that that was Winky facing Judah. So on that comparison one can say that at least for that particular style fighter (perhaps southpaw as someone suggested) then Winky's defense is superior.
The true answer is that TEXTBOOK theory wise yes Winky's defense is superior. What I mean by that is, the REASON Mayweather's defense works so well is that he's just flat out an extraordinary fighter. So if you were training a new fighter in your gym obviously you wouldn't start out teaching him Floyd's style of defense because 99% chance has it that he has no where near the athletic ability of a Mayweather, so obviously you would teach him the more theoretically sound Winky shell defense. However when not speaking of theory, speaking of which fighter simply does his own version of defense better I'd say Floyd just for his sheer athletic ability.

I choose Mayweather because I like versatility, but I can perfectly see why people would vote Winky.

        Well stated.
