His Parents were born in Italy...he was born in New Jersey. The Americans, because we are desperate for a great player, wanted him to play for the US squad, but he declined...he wanted to play for Italy. The Kid is supposedly really good. I'm not exactly sure what's going on with him...I hear United still may have some rights to him so if they do, I'll get to see him play on TV but not for the US national team. The Italians really like him so there is no hope of us getting him back. Oh well.
Luckily for Jones, this fight isnt in Wales!

That sort of thing goes on all over the world. Representing America at the Olympics this year was a runner born and bred in Kenya, and who had previously competed at the Olympics for Kenya.Comment

Yeah but Lewis is in no way Canadian. His folks are Jamacian. So I dont see the similarity. His Parents were born in Italy...he was born in New Jersey. Rossi is alright. I think United have a buy back clause on his contract. If he ever decides to go back, he immediately becomes a **** in my book.Comment

Yeah...but I'm not quite sure I'm in favor of it. I guess I should be. It's up to the person to decide who he/she feels they are inside...who they want to represent. However, sometimes, and I see this in Football, you have players from one country go to another and compete in the World Cup for another country...I don't know why $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I wi$h we would do more of that. We have Brazilians coming into this country all the time now; it's time to hand out green-cards/citizenship to the little Ronaldo's.
I did hear before that "America" doesn't just belong to those people born on this land...but to those people all over the World that share the same ideals and want to be "American." Arnold Schwarzenegger is an example.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 11-03-2008, 06:17 PM.Comment

Yeah, I know, and I agree: he is??? English by birth...I guess Jamaican by spirit, and Canadian educated. WOW, Lewis is alright. I think his kid is born in America.
If Rossi goes to United, do you think he'll get better like many of the young players do? I think Ronaldo got better there pretty quickly...even though I cannot stand that he dives and acts like a baby.
I'll just call him Christina since I'm a big fan of the real Ronaldo {Brazil} even though he is a mess...shame.Comment
