Im happy with this fight. it has an interesting story behind it. could be a better fight, but whatever, it could have been much worse.

Considering that Valuev/Sauerland/King were not willing to fight Wladimir, Rahman is the best option they had, all things considered. Toney and Chambers would have had zero chance against Wlad, but Rahman has at least a punchers chance.

Arreola, Haye and Dimitrenko had other fights scheduled and are not quite ready for Wlad anyway, and there's no drama in having them KOed by Wlad too soon...

I've always wanted to see Rahman vs. Wlad, and although this is a little late, better late than never. And Wlad's knocking out Rahman will be another step toward his cleaning out the heavyweight division.

Rahman is a shell of his former self, a fraction of the fighter he was back in 2001. Normally I wouldn't write of anyone against Wlad given his glaring deficiencies but this is a different matter. Rahman won't even land a substantial punch let alone pull off the upset.

How exactly? Rahman is not one of the hurdles Wlad needs to jump to achieve undisputed status. Neither is someone like Chambers but that would have been a fight to get excited about.
