no man. It amazes me how people think that these guys who have been fighting since they were kids(floyd pretty much as born with boxing gloves on), training and fighting grown men for years and all of a sudden are afraid to fight people. Margarito is a guy who took on all on his way to the top was willing to fight anyone. He wasn't scared at the age of 16 to fight against grown men, professional boxers but now that he is a world class champion he's suddenly afraid of a guy names williams that he's already fought once when he didn't even have to. No fighters are scared of each other, they just want to make sure they get what they feel they deserve when it comes to pay checks. **** ask someone ranked 199th by wba if they would take a fight with margarito for 200k and see if they jump on the opportunity. No one at this level is scared of anyone or scared of losing. They didn't get to where they are at by being scared to fight. Floyd was a HUGE underdog against corrales a p4p undefeated ranked champion, also bigger than floyd and many considered corrales my ko little floyd but it didn't stop floyd from fighting him and well we all know how that fight went. Judah was known as the ww king at the time floyd came to ww and right of the bat floyd let it be know he wanted to fight judah for his belts. Floyd went up to 154 when he's a small ww already and fought dlh, at his weight, his gloves, his ring size, his date, his money, and alot of experts though again floyd was too small and would get ko'd by dlh's hook, well we know how that fight went. People sayinf floyd is scared need to watch another sport they can understand betterLast edited by ANDROID_DOES; 10-31-2008, 03:32 PM.Comment

wtf? Do you know that hatton made more than floyd did for that fight? hatton does bring a lot of money to a fight due to his fan base and basically having a whole country behind him. a cotto floyd fight would have done big numbers pre margarito.Comment

I disagree some fighters just dont want nothing to do with some people. Im not saying they lose sleep over them or get stomachs aches. But some people were afraid of mike tyson..I dont care what you say.. some fighters quit in the middle of fights when they have the oppurtunity dont they? All fighters are a little scared..it's human nature..yu dont need to be a professional fighter to know that.Comment

no i dont think so....
I think he became unbelievably rich, and unbelievably bored with the sport... which is a really good time to retire, because with tyson and jones, u see what happens when u get bored...
although i think the hunger for money and the sport will soon get to him again
but i think rjj just got caught in his glass chin if he got bored he wont be attempting to comeback
as far as mayweather yeah i told people time and time again that he would retire u could see he didnt have the passion/courage to face any real challengeComment

Boxers LOVE, let me repeat LOVE FIGHTING! There is nothing there that makes someone scared of losing or not wanting no part of anyone. It's almost laughable to think a world class world champion born to a boxing family, boxing since he was a kid, who has constantly moved up in weight to face people much bigger than him is now scared to fight someone or wants no part of him especially when although the ww is filled with good fighters, there's no one there that seems unbeatable. Seriously dude it's laughable! Floyd is as unbeatable any ww ever! Floyd at 130-135 is argubly the best of all time. No one in the ww division right now posseses half the skill that floyd does. No one has more confidence than floyd. If you haven't noticed floyd doesnt have a confidence problem. There can be many reasons floyd retired. If you been a fan of floyd you would know that even before he came to the ww division he always stated he wanted to move to ww for a dream match with dlh and then retire. Anything he did before that was to put himself in a better position to negotiate a fight with dlh and get a fair cut.

You cant be serious....that's a laugh!!!
He avoided the real threats at WW..the prime top undeafted guys there. Dont tell me that he didnt feel they were a threat to him.. (to beating him)..LIKE i SAID...scared in this sense doesnt mean shaking in his boots.. means he knew he could be beat or the potential was high so he avoided them.
I cant take you seriously man.Comment
