It is a good fight to put on, in fact, they should make it right now. Cintron gets discouraged when his power isn't effective, Clottey is too much risk, and Berto is slippery like Floydish, that won't do nothing but give Cotto false confidence.

They should make Cotto vs Clottey. Cotto vs. Cintron doesn't do much for the division, because if Cintron were to win, there's no way he'd want another destruction at the hands of Margarito. I'd like to see Cotto vs PWill, but Cotto would probably get blasted out of there.

yeah there is.... baldomir. same style, same chin, same speed. only difference is that baldomir doesn't punch as hard and isn't as tall.

it is just a bad style match-up for cotto... he should just stay away from margarito, but money dictates and he will fight him again.
        this is true.

moseley made the same mistake with winky wright.
actually mosley rematched winky for pride not for money. I think cotto is doing the same, but money is a big factor as well.

margarito is not a fast fighter and cotto could not get away from his punches; he just doesn't have any advantages over margarito. margarito beats him 9 out of ten times..
I wouldn't say 9 out of 10... more like 7 out of 10. It all depends on how tight cotto's defense is, whether or not he can maintain a fast pace for 12 rounds, or somehow dictate the fight so as not to gas himself. its not like margarito dominated him... cotto easily outboxed margarito until he gassed.

something more behind this? lil stinky collazo?

bro... collazo has been waiting for his title shot for some time now, sitting idle, taking stay-busy fights while the big dogs stay clear of him. he would have fought paul williams but hbo didnt want the fight, so he had to settle for knocking out the likes of russell jordan. the man has been #1 for WBC for almost a year now and is now #1 for Margarito's WBA too. Why shouldn't he get the fight?!?

berto ducked him for a shot at the blown up, non-threatening forbes. he cant duck lou forever. now bertos trying to cash out and get a paycheck for his beating from cotto. they are mentioning everyone BUT lou. Al Haymon is talking about a match with Sugar Shane. Then Berto starts saying he's going down to 140. Then they want cotto. Please. If he wants to keep his belt, he has to fight LOU, and if he loses it, who the **** cares? he sure didnt beat anybody for it. Oooh- he looked impressive against mikki rodriguez the x-cop. thats a championship caliber fight right there!

time to man up and fight the mandatory berto. you have been an overpaid protected HBO contract fighter for waaay to long, without any risk. Its like a boring roy jones in his worst slump of fighting nobodies, only these nobodies berto digs up make roy jones's opposition look like ATG's. see, Berto knows when he loses to lou, it will be for less money, so he wants cotto so that his loss is better compensated financially.

...and bro, you live in queens. collazo is from williamsburg. wheres your new york pride son?!? he trains in ridgewood queens. **** man!

well berto should fight collazo anyways as a stepping stone / gatekeeper and not just because he is berto's mando.

one thing i will say is this.....Berto has the obligation to defend against the mandatory....Luis Collazo......lets say the WBC said ok, go ahead Berto go fight Cotto.......likely winner is COTTO, do we really think that Cotto's next fight would be against Collazo, the answer to that is HELL NO....What would happen then is that Cotto would be stripped of the title ( but I highly doubt that) and I guess Collazo would then fight the next available top ranked fighter out there for the vacant belt......Bottom line is they never should have authorized/allowed Berto to defend his title against Stevie Forbes in the 1st place..........

Berto may never get an opportunity like this again......he should consider vacanting this title and setup what i'm sure can be viewed as his "dream fight" with Cotto........This is turning out to be a freakin sopap opera!!! everyday, i check this site and **** changes in 24hrs...it's crazy!!!

agreed Cotto fighting Cintron is pretty worthless, from Cotto's point of view and especially worse if he loses (would that mean Cintron-Margarito 3?)

so most likely Cotto-Jesus Soto for the reasons already stated

(this came up earlier) What I think the poster meant by Marg got "lucky" with Cintron, is in Kermit's willingness to put his title on the line and fight Margarito again, when he didn't have to.

yeah I've really started to notice that, hell take the biggest fight of this year.

a fight strictly made for monetary purposes

**and on a side note I think it was done to see how gullible the fans are into buying DLH PPV's.

Tbh, i'm quite happy with the outcome, Collazo has been rated at no.2 for a while now and has been waiting for his shot.

well Collazo can wait longer as I don't think he's really all that deserving to get a shot in the first place

Luis got wiped out by Mosley several fights ago in a WBC Interim Championship bout (did break his thumb though)

and hasn't really done anything since, yet gets put #1 at Welterweight by the WBC

and just like that gets a title shot?

kinda bull**** if you ask me (what happened to earning your title shot?)

although Collazo/Berto should be a pretty interesting bout to look forward to, and if Berto really is this "star" in the making then he should get by Collazo when they fight.
