I dont believe thats accurate, friend.
The problem with a vegetarian diet is that most people do it poorly. If you have balanced, high protein vegetarian diet, you will be healthier than if you eat meat.
Hopkins was a vegetarian for quite some time, due to the health benefits.
I am almost certain multiple studies from legit sources will back me up on this. Ill search for something later.

Protein is essential in recovery. As far as getting up for your workout, it's not as important. Carbohydrates are more necessary.

As far as muscle recovery, protein definitely helps. I'm not sure how tofu (sp) and all that carries protein. They do make bars that contain protein, and foods like nuts and cheese (cottage especially) have protein in them. Then again if your a vegan then dairy is out of the window too.

In essence, all signs in comparison to other animals that eat meat show that humans are actually meant to be herbivores.

Plus, you can get mass amounts of protein from beans and nuts if you try.

I think it is probably good for you. He said that you actually do conserve energy by not eating meat because of the digestion process.
Correct. The problem is that people arent educated on these issues, and arent aware that there are healthy proteins you can get from alternate sources.
A lot of it has to do with the fact that people DONT WANT to believe its healthier to be a vegetarian because, well, people like to eat meat.

That was pretty much my answer when my little brother asked me why I didn't change to vegan like him.

I said... well, I would rather die early, happy from eating meat, then live and be miserable eating soymilk and soycheese, not to mention whatever **** they try to turn into meat.

I think humans are meant to have a balanced diet of everything. People have their own thing about what's healty and what's not. I say do whatever works for you. Some people say no red meat. Others live by their steak and potatoes.

I just dont get the health freak thing. Well I get trying to look and feel good. But unless you want to drop weight, I say **** trying to keep my insides in tip top shape. Life's too short. I'll worry about my cholesterol and heart when I'm middle aged. If I get that far.

There's plenty of protein in other foods. Meat is hard to digest, it can stay in your system rotting away for a long time. Personally I don't believe humans were supposed to eat meat. I've been a vegetarian for almost 30 years and there's no way I'd go back. Eating meat disgusts me!

D, I don't mean to sound rude but this is an ignorant comment. Eating vegetarian food doesn't mean you have to be miserable. On the contrary, if you have any feelings at all for animals, then being vegetarian will make you feel not only better heath-wise, but give your conscience an easier time, too. "Whatever **** they turn into meat"? Man, do you know what actually goes into "meat"? The answer is animal ****, concrete, eyeballs, brains, *******s... you name it. In contrast, vegetarian food is not ****, it's all good.

Vegetarian food nowadays is superb and there is a VAST range of good stuff. In fact I fool my uncle regularly by cooking vegetarian food at his house and giving it to him. He thinks it's real meat and falls for it every time. LOL. One day I'll probably confess that those sausages that he said were the best he's ever had weren't even made from dead pigs.
