Rjj I thought had a better career ! Hopkins no slouch his resume is good ! But I say RJJ ! I thought skillwise you have to give to RJJ ! Hopkins didn't start facing the good fighters til' a late age ! ODLH & Tito were blown up welterweights ! middleweight division wasn't their weight class ! And I was one of the few who knew Hopkins would beat Tito ! I think Pavlik and Tarver were his most significat wins because of Hopkins age !

Man, this is just Jones saying that he wants more money than Bernard. Hes just stating he much more entertaining to watch and he can put much more butts in the seats to watch him then to watch Bernard. Hes the bigger draw is what hes basically trying to say.

If Jones wins against Joe, then a rematch with Bernard will happen only if Jones gets a bit more piece of the pie. or........60-40 I kick yo ass

lets not it twisted tho - Roy was amazing but doesnt this issue raise the question as to where RJJ stopped and the little stuff in the syringe started ??

andro was legal over the counter until 2004. so even if roy used andro in 2000 against hall, it was legal. as far as balco, show me documentation(real stuff) that proves he buying from victor conte. It just so happens that at 34 after waiting till the last second to lose 25 lbs of muscle was around the time the balco story broke. Roy went down hill, and people jumped on the bandwagon of him possibly taking steroids. Theres no proof, just speculation.

Between these two Legends, I think 60-40 is a very good split in favor of the winner. Bernard is just scared to lose and not get that 60%.

RJJ.....Why because dude is a bad mofo....Anybody that goes up in weight classes to fight a heavyweight and win then say I wanna fight Mike Tyson is ok with me. Plus Roy was undisputed for so long and made his opponents look weak because there was no comp outhere to match him. Hopkins is a great fighter of course no doubt but He's getting ultra hyped up after Pavlik. I feel that Roy has worked for more and done more even at this point in his career. Seriously I dont care how washed up Tyson was at the time but seriously who would ask to fight Mike....

I agree 60-40 winner takes the bigger have. Than you know they will be both be motivated to try and win. Its the only fair way to go, if they can't come to agreement with a 50 - 50 split.

Precisely! Both parties will give an honest effort instead of giving in when the chips are down. I think the fight will be a serious chess match again, with the winner coming on strong at the end to edge it out. Jones, healthy in his prime would be too much for any version of Hopkins. But now that they are both older and a little faded, the odds have closed in on a very intriguing matchup. I know i would want to see it and so would any boxing fan in general even if they arent a fan.

Now B-Hop is showing some great life for an athlete of his age, great durability, while Jones made some mistakes (ie: draining 30 lbs. to fight 2 light heavyweights after his 35th birthday). Now that both are re-focused, each has a few good fights left in them, but I can't imagine something between them being any more exciting than their first meeting.
how about their second fight....if this keeps up

And lets remember Before the knockouts, from 1989-2003, Roy didn't lose. Everybody eventually falls. Ali wasn't the same fighter at 35, as he was at 30 or younger. Roy fell fast because the weight drain and Tarver caught him with a great left hand. Had Tarver not landed that left, who knows maybe Roy would have won and things would have went different.
gtfoh!!! im tired of everybody making excuses for dude getting ko'ed.....what you're saying is ridiculous.....he was 35....had more fights....had more wear and tear,,,,blah, blah, blah....

so i guess we can excuse hopkins for the taylor and calzaghe fights b/c he was older, and much older in one case.....

Plus, a chin is something that can't be trained; conversely, it can't be held against them either.

All-time, Jones is the better man. Hopkins definitely looks better older than does Jones, but in their prime, B-Hop was lucky that Jones fought him so cautiously.
that was roy's prime.....b-hop had only been a pro for like 3 years.....and he didn't even pick up boxing till prison.....roy was an amateur, an olympian, etc. roy beat bernard when roys was at a better stage of development, and thats a fact......say what you want. and roy didn't "dominate" b-hop as some ppl tell it. in fact, hopkins was coming on late.........

see above. roy jones hasn't fought any1 as of late...since he got KO'ed....hopkins resume has been FILLED w/ p4p'ers, even in his 40's, he's still fighting the best.....name jones's last 5 fights

in terms of physical gifts (speed, athleticism, showmanship), there's no question jones is better. but in terms of absolute skill in mastering the craft of boxing, ring smarts, there's no question bernard is the better fighter......

roy loses, he gets KTFO....or beaten up.....

the fights hopkins has lost (calzaghe, taylor), there's resonable amounts of ppl that believe he won.....

roy was right....he's the better crowd pleaser, that's why he's on PPV......but roy jones is NOT, the better boxer. i hope he beats calzaghe tho, cuz i can't wait to see hopkins beat roy to ****.....
