      Could Gainer KO Khan?
Despite his power being so low at LW?

The second fight was wack, Gainer learned his lesson to not trade with Kelley because Kelley is not the guy to go to war with. Still, that fight was the turning point where he stopped taking chances.

Nah, I've been busy but I'll be back in the swing of things shortly. I'm picking Joe Calzaghe because his will to win is superior to Jones'.

It was wack...because Smoke realized and implemented the plan to win easily as opposed to going to war and taking terrible punishment?? You have to use your skills, your advantages, your boxing sense, etc etc to win a true BOXING MATCH....Smoke chose that and won by a good margin.. . he could have went to war again, took big chances, been KO's again...then popped in here to read how he was KO'd twice by KK...now he can at least, yeah, but I won the fight. Hate me ...but I won

I completely understand where you're coming from about using your advantages but using that kind of extreme four-corners offense, something like what you might have seen from Hurtado in the Whitaker fight or other Cuban amateurs, hardly does anything to endear you to the fans.

I felt Gainer was winning the first fight even with the knockdowns. He was doing a lot of good things in there until he got caught with the big one.

Same problem he had in the Alejandro Gonzalez fight.

Gainer showed a similar mentality in the Marquez fight and as a result he can't get on TV.

His mentality has gotten more careful as time has went on, for sure...remember, the Kelly fight was almost THIRTEEN years ago... that's several years longer than Sugar Ray Leonard's entire career....when he was on, in his prime, he was a handful for many top guys... he had the range, the style, power, etc to be a big problem for a lot of good featherweights.

I definitely agree. I just think he took a few bombs in his career and got gun shy. I was definitely cheering when he ended the reign of Freddie Norwood. I thought it was poetic to finish him off with a shot to the nuts.
