Yep what everybody else said. I could understand why Roy would think that he would end up as a pretty good boxer because of his speed and him being a southpaw and all but he lacked the power to keep guys off of him IMO.

Gainer had power at 126, in fact that's what he was noted for in the prime of his career. He had a lot of pop in the straight left. When he moved up in weight to 130, not so much. What hurt his power is the fact that he was flighty, more concerned with getting out of the way then landing significant punches on his opponents.

Smoke Gainer gave ALL OF US an awesome war with KEVIN KELLY...BRUTAL FIGHT...he showed heart, SKILLS, power etc etc that night before getting caught with a bomb...he defeated Kev easily and clearly in the rematch...he beat a good fighter in Freddy Norwood and other good fighters....Smoke was a good fighter with skills....he got shots because of an allegiance with RJ? So what?? He's NOT supposed to take advantage of the alliance??
