That seems like an exaggeration to me. Joe mentioned in his book about Roy being shot, not a few months ago. Since that book was released, Jones has bounced back pretty well, although he hasn't fought anyone spectacular. If anything, Calzaghe has expressed surprise because he had written Jones off, as did many people.

        So you really believe that...

Well, I guess so since Joe said it. Call me a cynic but I don't think Calzaghe "realized" he was wrong based off Roy beating a fat, inactive Tito. But we all believe what we want to. I'm gonna go ahead and guess Roy offering the most dough has something to do with that.

I like Joe but I almost want to hate him just listening to people suck him off all day. There is no way to tell if hes past his prime or not because we never saw him face good competition in his supposed prime. We know for an absolute fact Roys not in his prime, and has faced the much better competition in his career. If Joe wins it will still be his second best victory ever. If Roy wins it will be considered ONE of his best ever and thats only because we think him to be washed up.

Zag also said the same stuff in interviews on youtube that were posted here in the last year and a half. Nice try though.

This is an extract from the book that i have on hand regarding Jones Jnr

                Joe:

I have no interest anymore in Roy Jones and No interest in Tarver.
Jones is washed up and Tarver was never that good anyway. He just caught Jones when Jones was shot and Johnson did the same.

An athletes prime is usually late twenties, he had a lot more power back in the day due to his hands not being as brittle. His prime was probably a good 5-8 years ago.
Didn't you just get done with about 30 threads writing novels about how Hopkins is better now than he was as a youth? I know you use the word prime here, but you define it in such a way that it makes it seem like Joe was better 5-8 years ago. Can't have it both ways can we?
