I am amazed you have as many posts as you do and you still don't understand the business part of boxing. Shane is not ducking Margarito. Margarito wants to fight in early 09. HBO does not have enough money in their budget for this fight with the rest of the fights they have set up for the remainder of the physical year. If they have 4 mil on the table and like it has already been mentioned Shane wants 2.5 and Tony want 2.5 then Golden Boy and Top Rank are in a whole for a mil. They are not going to make that back off of ticket sales at the arena they choose to have the fight in. If Shane can get his 2.5 and Berto will take 1.5 which (will porbably be his biggest pay check to date) then he will take that fight takle Berto's title belt and if and when he gets a shot at Tony, Cotto, Williams it will be a unifacation bout and the chips will be there. If you don't understand this then I don't know how else to explain it to you.

williams is a poor spectacle he cant make it into ppv because people know he is boring
margarito is one of the top names in the sport and needs to be fighting top names like cotto

Both fighters should take percentages instead of flat rates, with the minimum being what is currently offered. Fans would buy this fight. Margs has a few options, but not that many attractive ones. Cotto rematch obvious; money. Clottey rematch; get a belt and make a little money. Nunyz#@$; mandatory and hopefully an easy defense. Pwill; highest flat payout available, but not an option for early January unless Pwill KO's Phillips early. Which is highly unlikely. And if Pwill does, Margs will definitely not fight him. So Margs check options get smaller with each passing opponent. But he will be fine either way as long as he is staying in shape.

Wrong. Margarito changed his mind about the immediate rematch after watching a replay of the fight and then decided to focus on a future shot for Cintron's belt. Margarito said the only way he would fight Paul again is if Goossen had nothing to do with the promotion. To whoever said Williams is boring, he has two straight first round KO's and other then the first Quintana fight every one of his fights are violence and excitement. Haters are jokes. Verno Phillips means more at 154 after beating Spinks anyways. Margarito is a hypocrite, calls out Oscar and Shane but ducks Williams. Clottey turned down the November date as well. More so Arum.
