Because HBO has a budget which they have to keep to, Margarito-Mosley IS an expensive fight for HBO to pay for unless both fighter reduce there pay demand.

It easier and cheaper for HBO to stage a Margarito-lesser known fighter or Mosley-lesser known fighter, the only fights HBO would take a budget gamble on who be a oscar,Mayweather,tyson etc fight.

So you mean to tell me after all the money they are going to make from dlh vs pac they can't come up with enough for a margarito vs mosley fight????? How does that work? Shane states he's going to go with the one that makes most financial sense, well how is berto going to bring in a bigger paycheck then the man recognized by many as the ww champion? Before mayorga shane couldn't stop talking about a fight with margarito looks like he's turned tides. why mosley would consider a fight with berto is beyone me. What a shame the guy that was always up for a challenge is now not interested. He should just hang them up. The only fights he should consider are tony, oscar, and forrest. FLoyd wouldn't come back to fight a shane, shane lost his chance, plus shane would get his ass kicked.

I am amazed you have as many posts as you do and you still don't understand the business part of boxing. Shane is not ducking Margarito. Margarito wants to fight in early 09. HBO does not have enough money in their budget for this fight with the rest of the fights they have set up for the remainder of the physical year. If they have 4 mil on the table and like it has already been mentioned Shane wants 2.5 and Tony want 2.5 then Golden Boy and Top Rank are in a whole for a mil. They are not going to make that back off of ticket sales at the arena they choose to have the fight in. If Shane can get his 2.5 and Berto will take 1.5 which (will porbably be his biggest pay check to date) then he will take that fight takle Berto's title belt and if and when he gets a shot at Tony, Cotto, Williams it will be a unifacation bout and the chips will be there. If you don't understand this then I don't know how else to explain it to you.
