Tyson Fights, people wanted to see him ktfo out some guys.

Today the whites will only order if its a huge event, something that will break records that everyone else will be watching. DLH-Mayweather Mayweather-Hatton for examples. Other than that its UFC. No way in hell they are going to order a fight like Morales-Barrera when nothing about that fight interests them. Mexicans relate to those fighters
Let's get a fact straight, Whites brought the DLH-Mayweather fight more than any other race simple economics. What about Hatton - Mayweather 850k in the USA?? What about Holyfield and Lewis fights and Lewis fights??

What makes today whites different from yesterday whites??

It's time to go back to network television. It makes so much sense. Put it on NBC, CBS, ABC, hell USA would do it. They would make so much more money for each fight with sponsorships and advertisements. And that way, they would be guaranteed money instead of having to rely on PPV numbers. People will tune in. WCB on HBO does really good numbers. I know it's not that easy, but network tv seems like a Utopia for boxing. There would be a wealth of tv dates too.

Much better promotion. They really got the hip hop world and the mainstream involved. Jay-Z was there.

I really like how people just know what every white dude buys, and cares about. You cawk goblins should check out my Direct TV bill the past couple years, and my Comcast cable bill before that. You might just be surprised......

Hopkins usually isnt a real fan friendly fighter with mass appeal, Pavlik is a champ and well known to some but isnt a household name, hes still pretty new to the scene. So this = low PPV not a suprise!

so I guess DLH's immune to the bad economy?

all this talk about the economy has me wondering how well the Dream fight will sell just 2 months away (soon to be one)

and yeah if that 130 K is really true, hopefully it does get HBO to cut back on the PPV, because what's the point of having all these high priced pay per views if so few people watch them live in the first place? (130K)

and the rest catch the free replay on HBO a week later.

**did anyone read the boxing article from espn like 2-3 months back describing the boxing PPV scene ... can't find it at the moment but am on the look

anyway to give some info on what the article said .. they of course talked about Pacquiao-DLH which is the biggest fight this year

talked about how the economy was in a slide and that some fans were ?ioning ponying up there $54.95

I'd really like everyone to read the article because IMO it brings up so many valid points, not to mention quotes from fans of boxing as well.

Hard times and a deteriorating economy have some boxing fans thinking twice about digging into their pockets and laying down 50 big ones to watch the fights, writes Robert Cassidy.

                      very appropriately titled headline

"Sagging economy leaves boxing fans on the ropes about buying fights"
