I heard from a good source that Pavlik-Hopkins did around 125-130K buys. Everyone, including HBO, was not banking on a big number. They knew the chances of the show doing a poor number was much higher than the show doing a high number.

Mexican market right there. Latinos are the ones who account for the majority of the ppv buys when a latino is fighting. Mayweather/Dlh fights are bought by anyone who has just an inch of interest in boxing just to see the spectacle. When Latinos fight and it looks like its going to be a good fight they will buy it. If latinos arent involved boxing is counting on the casual fan or like in hopkins/pavlik's case the white fan base which is more interested in UFC than Boxing.

I bet you all the Top 15 PPV fights which didn't have Hispanics in it except Oscar were brought by whites. Whites buy the most PPV i thought this would be a common known fcat

They bought because it was DLH. He was part of pop culture and his fights were events everyone wanted to see.

Tyson Fights, people wanted to see him ktfo out some guys.

Today the whites will only order if its a huge event, something that will break records that everyone else will be watching. DLH-Mayweather Mayweather-Hatton for examples. Other than that its UFC. No way in hell they are going to order a fight like Morales-Barrera when nothing about that fight interests them. Mexicans relate to those fighters

i'm not surprised by the numbers at all. Pavlik is the young star but still most average fans have no idea who he is and lets face it most people think Hopkins at this point in his career is a boring boxer. that combination and the fact that the economy is **** well it results in low PPV numbers
