    Do you think Hopkins could make 160?

    In his prime he had to run miles and miles and miles, train his ass off 24/7 and generally be a health freak. Now, at 43 with added bulk from the move to light heavy, I seriously doubt Hopkins could..

      Yeah I'm laughing at you. He fought Pavlik at 170 because he can't make 160 anymore. End of. The rest of that is for another thread.

        Well I think it has to do more with the fact Hopkins has hasn't fought at 160 since 2005; his last four fights have been at or above 170. It's much more difficult to be at a weight you're entire career, go up and be comfortable there for several years, then go back down to that original weight, then for someone to simply add a few pounds. Especially for a guy in his 40's. Maybe for a young paul williams but most people no.

        Plus, I thought it was fair. Pavlik's last fight was at 166, hopkins at 174. They met in the middle at 170.

        Anyways, pavlik is taller then hopkins is more natural around the 168-174 mark. Pavlik's camp expressed for sometime now that he's been having trouble making 160 and the plan was to move up in weight anyways. That's a fact.

          Pavlik, Tarver and Johnson are not small guys and he did a impressive job in beating them.

            I don't think Bernard can go back down that far. I could see him easily at 168 tho, if he felt inclined to go for that title now.

                  You call me a clown? What the **** are you smoking? I was telling the board that Pavlik was gonna get crushed for months. I wanted Hopkins to win, and I was right in saying he would.

                  Don't try to accuse me of being sorry for Pavlik's beating. You're a ****ing tool. Biggest tool on the whole board, in fact.

                  As for Tarver, coming down from being about 600 pounds back to light heavy was always gonna hurt him. Anyone who didn't see this is an idiot. Hopkins had a clear advantage, cause Tarver isn't that good anyway, never mind one who had to dramatically cut weight.

                    For me, the Johnson win is the most impressive, even though it's a long time ago.

                    Pavlik = limited fighter, I always said the same thing and as far as I'm concerned he should have two losses now. One to Taylor when he got outboxed and had a couple of flaws exposed (which were probably helpful to Bernard).

                    Johnson = great win.

                    Tarver = the massive weight loss issue.

                    Bernard is one of my top 5 fighters. Don't get me wrong, I'm not disrespecting one of my boxing heroes. All I am saying is some of his biggest wins were over smaller guys with big names. Nothing wrong with saying that. Bernard is a smart man, he knows how to pick the right fights, ones which get him a great pay check and add a famous name to his resume.

                      It'll possibly take alot out of him considering his age.
