Jermain Taylor Inspired By Bernard Hopkins' Win

Former undisputed middleweight champion Jermain Taylor was watching the Oct. 18 catch-weight bout between Kelly Pavlik and Bernard Hopkins with eager eyes. Taylor holds two wins over Hopkins, and lost two fights against Pavlik. He said the performance by Hopkins gave him inspiration as he continues his training camp for his super middleweight debut against Olympic teammate Jeff Lacy on November 15. [details]

Jermain is gonna whup Lacy's ass. I hope Jermain can get that closing ability he seems to lack.

      Duplicate thread:

Wouldn't want to ruffle any feathers here (I mysteriously got banned the last time I dissed a Mark Vester written article), but it looks like the author just wrote around some Taylor quotes from the Arkansas ******** Gazette article written by Chris Givens (who to Mark's credit, he cites in his story). For the whole article, click on the link above.

I understand and witnessed B-Hop's domination of Pavlik and give him all the credit in the world, and it is inspiring, but I don't understand how Jermain Taylor is calling Pavlik a champion on paper. I understand Taylor beat B-Hop twice but he could've easily lost those fights. They were both very close fights. But calling Pavlik a champion on paper is pretty disrespectful and ignorant on Taylor's behalf when Pavlik put Taylor's ass to sleep in the first fight, taking his titles and causing him to run away into his locker room like a little kid running home crying after getting his lunch money taken away and then losing again to Pavlik in the second fight. I just don't understand the gall in which Taylor is calling Pavlik a champion on paper. It was HIS titles that Pavlik took from him. I'd bet if B-Hop would have fought Taylor with the same intensity and style that he beat Pavlik with, he'd easily beat Taylor in their fights. Taylor in my eyes now falls in the same category as I put Calzaghe- JACKASS!!

Taylor: "Kelly is just a champion on paper"

Taylor needs to shut the **** up...he got his ass whooped by Pavlik TWICE.

            Pavlik is Taylor's daddy!!!

If I was Taylor, this would crush my spirit... That "unbeatable" guy who KO'd me and then outjabbed me (my best weapon) to a decision victory was made to look like a fool by a guy that I hold two extremely controversial victories over.

                    wwwwwooooooowwwwww

Come on Jermain you beat the champion wich was hopkins for years then Pavlik was just a set up for Miranda. So when miranda beat Pavlik he could fight Jermain. But Pavlik upset both of them I think it just was not his night i think he could beat Hopkins. Hopkins is a back foot fighter, I don't rate him as a legend fighter's in our era was ****.
