What's your excuse for even making this thread? Did you really not know the rule of not being saved by the bell in any round including the 12th? With over 4,000 posts on a BOXING forum, are you really that uninformed?
It's still a subjective decision from the ref. on whether a fighter is shot or not. Many refs would've stopped Pavlik in the first Taylor fight in the second round. There are rules but alot of times they are misinterpreted.

The fight should have been stopped before the knockdown!!!

Since when can a guy fall, nearly over the ropes ON HIS OWN, UNTOUCHED, and be deemed by the ref fit to continue? He was half concious a good 10 seconds before he got knocked down. He fell into the ropes, his abs on the top rope, UNTOUCHED. He was completely out on his feet. The fight should have been stopped before the knockdown, plain and simple.

What parts of "leaning against the ropes" and "out on his feet" and "unable to continue" are you not understanding? It doesn't matter when he got up, he couldn't stand up unassisted. The fight should've been stopped, or at minimum there should've been a count, one of the OTHER THREE TIMES he fell against the ropes in the last 30 seconds.

No man. There's a big difference. Pavlik got up walked towards the ref, looked dead in his eyes, and clearly had his legs under him. He then proceeded to show why the fight should not have been stopped.

This guy was completely out on his feet. It was like he was ****ing sleepwalking HE FELL INTO THE ROPES ON HIS OWN FACE FIRST. What more evidence did he need?

Falling into the ropes 3 times, on your own, and not being able to walk, takes the subjectivity out of it. As does leaning against the turnbuckle when you stand up from a KD and aren't able to walk to the ref.

            He was KTFO.

bute might have beat the ten count we will never know but he was definetly unfit to continue seeing as though he was sleeping on the ropes. the last 30 seconds he couldn't stand up and kept falling into the ropes. fight should have been stopped andrade won. not to mention the ref letting bute clinch the entire fight till the 11th round.

                  He COULDN'T CONTINUE!!

The REPLAY showed the REF started the count late, CONTINOUSLY LOOKED to the other corner ONCE he began (looking for WAYS to STOP the COUNT). He saw Andradre BARELY out his corner & halted the count; EVEN IF you BELIEVE BUTE BEAT the count, he could NOT hold his balance, SO IF he was up at 9 & the ref asked him IF he could go on & instructed to put his hands up & COME TO HIM (Instead of the REF approaching him) he WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO IT!! ANDRADE TKO12 BUTE!!!

First off the ref was absolute ****, Bute was dead but showed huge balls and heart for getting up. He beat the count and won the decision.

It was the right call since the time was over, this was not like Chavez vs Taylor where there was still a little time where Taylor could have taken a few more punches.

Yeah I see what all of you guys are saying. But the ref is not gonna stop a guy in the last thirty seconds who was winning the rest of the fight. We definatley saw hometown bias from a ****ty ref, but he did get up enough on his own feet to not get waved off.
