Bute was up 6 seconds after going down. Watch the replay
The dude was hurt bad, he woulda lost if the bell didn't sound, but he was up 6 seconds after he went down. The ref made a mistake, discontinuing the count for bull ****, but Bute was up anyway. Bute won that fight about as ugly as you can win one, but bottom line is he won.
He was up at like 9 at a normal count, but before then it should have been stopped imo. Look at his eyes and when he slumps down. He's totally out and confused. It's like what would have happened if Taylor-Chavez wasn't stopped.
What's the rule about being out on your feet the end of the fight? Because if there had been any time left, it would have been criminal to let Bute continue after he got up. His eyes were rolled back and he was stumbling around, leaning against the ropes.
Let's walk through this, no doubt the ref's delay was horrible BUT, Bute was up at 7, then the ref made a like 5 second delay. He went down at 2 sec left in the round so no time was remaining, all he had to do was get up and fights over, correct? Hate on the ref all you want, rightfully so, but Bute was up by 7 and it goes to the scorecards, period.
