in their eras robinson and louis were very popular and well known but nowadays i doubt many non boxing fans can name those guys

all time world wide it would have to be ali, followed by tyson and maybe DLH

on a smaller scale of popularity in australia guys like kostya tszyu and jeff fenech are very well known, i guess that would go the same for countries like mexico where barerra and morales chavez etc would be very well known but not known worldwide by people who arent even sports fans like ali and tyson are

If you are meaning popularity for the general public, then yeah I have to agree with your list, and in that order. I wasnt alive to see the Ali events, but I do know that in his day, everyone knew who and when Tyson was fighting. It was the lead story on the news sometimes, and always the lead on sportcenter. The fights were talked about on all the talkshows and all that. Tyson was a living legend. He is still one of the biggest sports icons ever.

pacquaio isnt known much outside of the sport or fans of the sport other than in his home country...

fans or non-fans (majority at least) have all heard of ali, tyson, and de la hoya.
