Sugar Ray Robinson said that he didn't enjoy fighting.

I'm reading a biography on him, and he is known as saying that he never liked to fight. It was just a business to him. I'm sure a lot of you have heard this before, but what do you think? Possibly the greatest fighter of all time didn't even like it, haha. I just think it's kind of funny.

I don't believe it one bit. Alot of great people in their fields of expertise say such things to sound high and mighty.

For example Glenn Gould one of the most famous pianist's of all time and considered a genius said in an interview that he "doesn't like the piano, and can't stand going to a piano concert" and doesn't like how the piano sounds etc. It's just ridiculous hype made to make them sound greater.

Robinson was a boss at that time. It could see how he only took it to business. Maybe he never enjoyed the thrill of fighting. But i bet he enjoyed crackin somebody's mask.

He killed somebody in the ring and never let it show that it bothered him. But maybe he hated getting hurt. Mike Tyson was the same way. He said he worked on bobbing and weaving and research so much because he was terrified to get hurt. If you watch his matches where he gets hurt, instead of freaking like you would expect he would give up and lose. That is where Dempsey excelled, he did not care if he got hurt. When someone hurt him he freaked out and went nuts on them and tended to win with that. He was known to win fights completely blacked out with no memory. Tyson said most of the Hollyfield 1 fight was like that for him after the headbutt. I think that concussion ruined his promising career. At least that is my opinion.

Where the hell did you get that **** from? Tyson bobbed and weaved because that's how cus d'amato strictly taught him. You make it sound like tyson was training himself. I agree he had alot of subconscious fear inside him though because he's really the scared bully type

It took a while and some research for me to really truly see Robinson as a boss.

the only fighter I would believe that from is Jermain Taylor he has stated in interviews something similar to this. He says he doesn't watch any boxing at all and is not a fan of the sport at all. He didn't say he doesn't actually like to box but he barely knows the names of any other boxers and watches zero boxing on TV he spends his time supposedly reading and doing other **** (cow tipping for all I know)
