    Another win for Boxing

OK Ok , so the title to this thread might be somewhat off. But Exlite XC has gone down, maybe due to UFC or even boxing. Read more here

Kimbo Slice and Gina Carano are without jobs, well I think Gina still has American Gladiators, but as for MMA goes, nothing yet.

no it went down because the entire thing was banking on the HUGE event that was supposed to be kimbo vs. shamrock but shamrock got injured and kimbo got knocked out by a bisexual club fighter so ...their star potential was destroyed

because no one likes watching mma. MMA is built around stars/hype potential only that's why their biggest fights are constantly something very gimmicky like an ex WWF star versus Couture and Kimbo a street fighter versus "Shamrock" a guy that sounds like he's out ofa comic book etc but when you lose that star potential and you just have a bunch of skinny club fighters with bad tribal tattoos rolling around on the mat dry humping each other well then no one wants to see that gay **** they rather watch 2 professional box each other in the ring

Elite XC, which produced seven of the 10 most-watched MMA matches in U.S. history on two CBS specials in recent months, will be closing its doors at the end of the week, leaving a roster of fighters, including top-draws Kimbo Slice and Gina Carano, looking for work in a constricted environment.

The Elite XC sale was believed to be close to completion heading into the Oct. 4 show on CBS. The show was a ratings success, beating both Major League Baseball playoff games and both major college football games in the target male 18-49 demographic, but left the brand tainted due to a controversy stemming from the main event.

          Ratings werent the problem.

yes ratings was the problem you dumb **** WOW it beat one major league baseball game do you think maybe that's because there's about 20 MLB games on PER ****IN NIGHT EVERY NIGHT OF THE WEEK? And there's only one EliteXC show a month or one ever few months or whatever. Fact is MLB will make more in that 2 or 3 days of games than ELITE XC will make in its history. No one watches that trash that's why it got canned.

No. It got canned because of Standgate. CBS didn't want to **** with EliteXC after it became public notice.

Exactly. Contraversy surrounding the main event caused potential buyers to flee.

yeah it wasnt the problem, but I guess this is why boxing doesnt do regular tv networks, it sticks to ESPN,HBO and Shotime, of course PPV too. They know better

The only TV boxing that I watch and is still around after so many years is Solo Boxeo, on spanish TV

no man, rating were ok or good, they put too much oney into each event, I take it you didnt read the link I pasted.

MMA did not get cancelled, only exite XC, keep in mind they were also on Showtime. They team up with another company, but UFC is still around and ECW or whatever it is called.
