no man, rating were ok or good, they put too much oney into each event, I take it you didnt read the link I pasted.

MMA did not get cancelled, only exite XC, keep in mind they were also on Showtime. They team up with another company, but UFC is still around and ECW or whatever it is called.

UFC won't be around for long they're dying. They're on a big decline now that a bunch of their biggest names have dropped out and the tiny few they have left are going to be gone soon too (Anderson Silva etc)

I agree, I think they will die due to their interior competition, all these other companies coming in doing what UFC does, it happens more and more, good pride, K1 and other fighters come in and beat up and put to shame many of UFCs top names

I really wish Roy Jones would have faced Anders Slivia in a boxing match, even tho we all know Jones is out and not the same fighter he was 5 years ago. Why would a prime fighter from UFC want to fight a has been boxer, the same questions goes for Calzaghe. Joe could have gone to figth Pavlik or someone else.

slowing but surely, they are still a young sport and have much to learn
        what 15 years?

IO think they will be hurting real bad for a while, they might not go away all the way, but they will be hurting. They are always comparing themselfs to boxing, I think it is going to take a cross over, have a few boxers do MMA and visa versa, to settle the score

but who am I , I dont know

well you obviously care about it or else you wouldn't be talking about it.

and if a sport you say "no one watches" is doing poorly ... how would that effect boxing at all?

there's way too many Boxing greater then or MMA Greater then arguments going on, and this is another one.

EliteXC was a terribly run promotion (look how they promote events)

that recently had an FBI investigation because there October 4th main event was said to have been fixed. oh and they were also about $55 Million in debt.

it's not because of the ratings.

and for all the crap you give MMA+Elite XC at least they made it to basic cable (how could a sport no one cares about achieve this)

where boxing is still overly dependent on HBO/Showtime and PPV's.

actually you're 100% wrong you see the total PPV revenue is just a small fraction of boxing's gross income WORLD WIDE. boxing is DEPENDENT as you say on its gigantic world wide following and PPV is just icing on the cake. Yet the complete opposite is true with UFC where UFC IN ITS ENTIRETY is based on its ppv revenue because that's all they have is their cheap ****ty ppv shows. Learn about the topic before you speak on it please good sir.
Boxing owns MMA world wide it is absolutely crushing it on a global scale MMA doesn't even EXIST world wide it's only somewhat large in the USA and has TINY NICHE MARKETS in small areas of the world such as brazil with their BJJ and etc.
I had more fun watching old UFC John Hess destroy Anderson using SAFTA techniques than I do watching the current incompetent jokes

I dont see how this is a win for boxing. Boxing is its own worst enemy. Greedy promoters, sanctioning bodies, fighters who are only interested in high pay/low risk fights, 4-5 champs per weight class, too many b.s fights on ppv, etc....

If every mma orginization tanked, boxing will still be heavily criticized for all the above mentioned.

The Elite XC sale was believed to be close to completion heading into the Oct. 4 show on CBS. The show was a ratings success, beating both Major League Baseball playoff games and both major college football games in the target male 18-49 demographic, but left the brand tainted due to a controversy stemming from the main event.

                    Ratings werent the problem.

And there's only one EliteXC show a month or one ever few months or whatever. Fact is MLB will make more in that 2 or 3 days of games than ELITE XC will make in its history. No one watches that trash that's why it got canned.
It beat out MLB Playoffs because not even the peopl ein Tampa want to watch the Rays. So it is what it is. MMA is only fun when you have fighters that strike when you get into a technical match much like some of the technical boxers it can become extermely boring. Also because of the constant grappling the croowd and the fans watching on TV can't see the blows from knees elbows etc. I agree I am a boxing fan and very raely will i turn on MMA. The only good thing about it is fighters since they don't make as much money are more active. I just wish we had more boxing events televised is all.

that's because mma is not a growing sport. the best mma fighter in history can go against the former hw ufc champ at affliction and it only sells 80k ppvs. that tells you it's not mma, but ufc that's a growing brand.
