Oscar is 35yrs old. I guess that is old to the author of this thread. Lets also not forget that Hopkins had lost 3 of his last 5 fights prior to last Saturday. The facts are that Hopkins Oscar, Pacman, & even Pavlik to a certain extent are 4 great fighters of this era. Bernard deserves props for his performance last Saturday & Oscar will deserve props if he can beat Manny in December. PERIOD
I respect your post. You giving credit to one, you give credit to the other.
My problem is so many people giving Hopkins huge props which is great but they then take it over board. And then they'll talk **** about Delahoya v. Pac, how pac is such a smaller man, yet, Hopkins fought a smaller man and he gets seen as an atg. You give credit to one, then you give credit to the other.

Pavlik moved up only 7 pounds made the 9 if you want to be accurate.
Manny is moving up 13 pounds and Oscar fights at 154. Massive weight gap
Your problem is you see Hopkins as your ordinary old man. I see him as a fighter that is old and gave these young fighters heavy problems. He probably never stoped training and has been fighting regularly.
Hopkins got ran out of middleweight by Jermain Taylor! Don't lie to the people, there so gullable they'll belive you.
Styles make fights. Taylor had the style to beat Hopkins. Hopkins had the style to beat Pavlik. Pavlik had the style to beat Taylor. A lot of people forget that Hopkins had no where else to go after he ran into Taylor 2 times at MW.
B-Hop doesn't need to do anything to get anyonez respect. He has done enough. He was the underdog against Tarver, Tito and Pavlik...give the man credit.
I have said he is a great fighter, and really he should right a book about his inspirational life.

The size difference (IF ANY) between B-Hop and Pavlik is that of Pac & DLH? You'd best not being saying that

He sure as hell didn't stop at 168 where Calzaghe was. So he made the full jump to LH. Why would he make such a big jump to 175 if he is a natural 160 fighter? Was he afraid of Calzaghe who was at 168 - that he decides to skip that weight and fight at 175?.
Doesn't make sence if he is a true middleweight. Even the big Taylor stopped at 168.
