Kelly Pavlik: "That Wasn't Me in There, I Had Nothing"

Speaking with BoxingScene.com's Bill Emes, WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik tried to make sense of what went wrong last Saturday in Atlantic City when he was dominated by Bernard Hopkins over twelve rounds. Pavlik moved up to a catch-weight of 170-pounds. Some felt he looked sluggish when he fought the February rematch with Jermain Taylor at 166, and looked even more sluggish as a light heavyweight. is that a clone? Maybe it came from the same source as the barrera clone of 03

    Better excuses:
    -Underestimated the opponent
    -Had distractions in the camp

If this article is quoting what Pavlik said in the video interview it's more of Pavlik being in shock than being a bad loser, he totally did not know how he lost that fight.

Pavlik was outclassed but he moved up 2 divisions to fight Hopkins.

Pavlick was in shock, he did not have the preparation to deal with what Bhop brought to the table plain and simple. He needs a new voice in his camp. Look anyone who watched the fight will tell you Pavlick was not the usual Pavlick it was as if he gave up and had no plan b.

Credit to Jack though, he gave Hopkins all the credit for the victory.

im tired of people making excuses for him.. Pavlik said himself he felt comfortable at that weight and he felt like he would be stronger at that weight.. i mean come on he was fighting a 43 year old man.. he got his ass handed to him plain and simple no excuses.. he would lose at any weight against bhop..

It's not excuse it's a fact.. He may not beat Hopkins in any weight class but it's a fact he move up 2 division higher to fight Hopkins..

Can you imagine Margarito and Mosley calling out the Lightweights.?
