I think everyone is being a little hard on Pavlik...his reponse is better than Vic the D*ck's reponse after the Donaire fight. I think that he was in shock...his camp was way too confident.

I agree with Pavlik , he had nothing and should not fight outside middleweight as it takes all his snap away , being off on the night is not an excuse its a very common thing with elite athletes they can go wrong and I think Pavlik did , people on this board blow weight off like it means nothing , you can be very fit but flat and thats what Pavlik was and if you cant see how tired and slow he looked you aint looking , I dont want to hear Bhop makes them all look bad because thats a throw off , Bhop can shut a fighters work rate down to his pace but he cant make them punch slower and with less power and he cant make them get tired in 4 rounds , Pavlik was not near his best form and I believe it was because of the 10 pounds higher weight , hindsight is 2020 vision Kelly cant handle the higher weights I want to see him back at middle and I bet you Pavs a wrecking ball again at 160 .

I dont agree with Kelly saying Bhop aint great and all that stuff Ive never heard him down anyone before , I think Kelly is just frustrated trying to answer his own concerns of what happened , but it definitely wasnt the real Pavlik in there .

well **** margarito should be fighting at junior middleweight anyways..
i could care less about mosley and margarito.. this is about bhop and pavlik.. they fought at 170 a catchweight.. kelly had fought at 166 before.. he's weighed over 170 after the weigh in for som of his fights.. he walks around at 180 he says.. he said he wasnt tired, he felt comfortable at this weight and that it wont negatively affect him as a matter of fact it would make him stronger because he wouldnt have to drain himself to make 160.. Kelly Pavlik fought against Eric Olds at the weight of 170 a few years back.. there is no excuse he lost to a 43 year old man.. fact bhop fought a guy 17 years younger than him and made him look foolish

Young man you are a limited fighter. you got exposed in the ring by a veteran boxer. he moved and gave you angles the whole night. he also beat you to the punch and made you reset the whole night! Better matchmaking in the future by your management! But I see a lot of young guns in the MW division with some of those attribute so your time may be running out. And I don't see you improving any time soon.

No, actually it's worse. If you saw the video after the fight, Pavlik said nasty thing about Hopkins like Hopkins isn't even a good fighter and he has no idea why he lost to Hopkins... Pavliks a ****head

Worse of all, he used the triangle theory that if Taylor beat Hopkins, and Pavlik beat Taylor he must be able to beat Hopkins... After that video I think Pavlik is a total idiot.

You also forgot to tell him that Hopkins is a natural 160 pound fighter who moved up to light heavy and won the belt from Tarver. Tarver was naturally bigger then Hopkins, and Hopkins put the smack-down on him.

When he admits to himself that the reason he felt like he just couldn't do it is because the fighter in front of him asked for more dimension and he couldn't deliver. His brain checked out when the double jab straight right produced nothing. Jack Loew and Kelly Pavlik better come up with a better excuse than that.

Come on man, dont take credit away from Hopkins. Im a huge Pavlik fan, but he got it right at the end when he said "I got my butt whooped." He should have said something to this effect. "Hopkins whooped me. He is an all time great and he showed why. I have alot I need to learn, but I will come back strong." That would have been the classy way to do it. Not "He isnt special! He lost to Taylor twice and Calzaghe hit him at will" only to then say "No excuses, I got whooped." Come on Kelly, you lost and its time to hit the gym and learn from what happened. You are still the champ after all.

I dont agree with this part (although I do the rest of it.) Pavlik is a limited fighter, but he didnt lose this fight because of that alone. They didnt prepare him right. They (like most boxing writers) saw a slowing in Hopkins in his last fight and figured that they would just walk him down and hurt him. They never prepared Kelly for an actual fight from Bernard. They thought they would walk right through him fighting the same as always. Pavlik can be trained to deal with slick fighters, he just wasnt for Hopkins. So he lost every round and was totally confused about what to do. I remember that they said he trained no different for Hopkins then how they normally train. He came in with a plan of :Ill just do what I always do and somehow I will Knock him out.
