i think Hopkins footwork was too good for Hagler and Hopkins was too smart for him period i dont wanna take away from a great fighter but if the physically challenged Ray Leonard could decision him then i dont think Hopkins would struggle with him i know people will say Hagler was shot but Leonard was know spring chicken either and he has been inactive for 2 years

Hopkins too smart for Hagler IMO negates all Hagler attributes by countering and using superior ring craft to decision him

I like Hagler but Hopkins has a really bad style for him... Maybe a close ud win for one over the other? Can't see anyone getting knocked out.

Hopkins would have beat the middleweight version of Sugar Ray Robinson....He wouldn't have beaten Hagler though. Hagler vs Hopkins is close, but Hagler was a very good Boxer-Puncher in his prime and he could also hunt people down.

For people wondering about Robinson vs Hopkins, it'd be close, but Robinson was a very inconsistent (and not to mention older) fighter at Middleweight. He was the best defensively, but he had great power and fast hands. I think Hopkins could very well pot shot him and beat him. Hopkins could rough him up now and then, but Hops would have to be careful because Robinson was very good in the clinch.

Hopkins would make Halger look awfull he is a natural 160lbs fighter he is quicker and more intelligent also i notice Hagler used to reach with his jab a lot aswell you know Hopkins is coming over the top of that **** with counter right hands

Leonard kept Hagler turning and he looked Terrible... Hopkins would be hitting him harder than Leonard aswell in those situations

Hagler is hardly an Ali or a robinson if you look at styles! Hopkins is underrated and I would say he would have a good chance V the Marvellous one!

Hopkins loses to Taylor and Calzaghe and he was old and shot. Now he's beaten Pavlik he's back to being a god.

It would be an ugly fight, but then it always is with Hopkins. If you don't fight his fight and come to him, then there is no fight. Marv is a different kettle of fish to Pavlik, though, and I think he's just too busy, too strong and too aggressive for Hopkins, especially if it's over 15.
