Exactly, I don't think a fighter should change trainers just because they suffer their first loss, but in this case he should at least consider adding somebody to his corner. Loew doesn't seem like he has the knowledge to help Kelly advance past where he is. At one point he even told Kelly to just throw a lot of punches like Calzaghe did. Pavlik doesn't have Joe's style, speed, or ring experience. Just throwing punches won't work if your not being effective and landing.

Yep thats the truth right there. He can only take him so far and its obvious this was it.Not trying to blame the trainer but his advice was ****e.
The only time he was active was when he was trying himself to throw blows at hopkins

I agree with you, man. I was just lamenting the fact that it's always the same super trainers that keep getting mentioned.

Re Loew....I feel a bit sorry a bit sorry for him. He probably is out of his depth at that level. After the first round, I looked at Hops with Nazeem Richardson, and between them, the boxing intelligence is brilliant, and then you turned to Pav and Loew, and....

I remember during the second Taylor fight, and Pav's cutman seemed more authorative in there then Loew, who seemed to be fumbling in the dark.

Based on Pavlik's style of boxing what coach do you think would be a good match? I personally don't think Pavlik needs to get someone that is going to change his style of boxing but just work on a few things.

Word. I think Jack Loew can only take Pavlik so far. He's gonna have to spend some money and start hiring the big guns who operate at a high level like that.

Pavlik still trained at Southside. He went with his Amateur coach.

All Jack Loew could tell him what "Double that F***in jab"
              Okay...and then what?

Pavlik: "How do i stop him from comin in with his combos?"

              Loew: "Double that F***kin jab."

pavlik under the guidance of loew have destroyed everyone that's been put in front of them...pavlik lost to an ATG, at a higher weight, who fought out of his fooking mind last nite and now pavlik needs to dump his trainer?

the way Hopkins schooled Pavlik last nite, you coulda had eddie futch, angelo dundee, nacho beristain or any other great trainer and it wouldnt have done squat...it was the Executioner's nite and that's pretty much there is to it...you guys are harsh

Did you forget what happened to JT after he dropped Pat Burns?

In Ricky Hatton's case I competely agree but not with Lowe and Burns.
