it'll go down "for the record" as a win for jc, but it was a split decision, he got dropped in the fight, and many ppl believe he lost..........so yea, "for the record," but very disputed.......

1 thing's for sure calzaghe won't be able to do what b-hop is doing at age 43, and even tho i say hops really won that calzaghe fight, he would've destroyed calzaghe had the fight been about two years ago.......

It wasn't very disputed that's a wild exaggeration. Some as is often the case in a close decision, had Hopkins winning. Most however thought it was clear enough to be a UD.

What does it matter if Calzaghe couldn't fight as well as that at 43, who else can? Most don't have the unique style Hops does to do what he does at that age. That's a desperate attempt at a moral victory using a largely irrelevant thing.

Calzaghe will not face him again, he beat him once fair and square in a bad performance for him, there's no point in a rematch over then fuelling some wishful Hops fans deluded hope for him avenging it.

idk. i thought hopkins won the first fight, and i really think calzaghe is overrated.......hopkins fights like he did tonight, he could beat calzaghe just about as bad as he beat pavlik....this **** is ridiculous, for a man this old (in terms of sports...)

but like i keep saying, if rjj takes care of calzaghe, i'd be just as happy.....

Oh so Hopkins had a really bad performance last time, was old. Last night he was miraculously ok, brilliant performance, totally different fighter? Right right yeh, convenient. How about this more explainable obvious thing. Hops couldn't and can't do what he did to Pavlik to Calzaghe, because Calzaghe is not the one dimensional, straight punching, bad movement and bad ring tactician Pavlik is. Calzaghe brought a better fight and game plan and enforced that pace and game plan on Hops, and would again. Pavlik cannot do that. Hence one a deserved win for Hops, one a deserved loss.

well, i mean hopkins would probably have to drop down to meet floyd in the area of 160 or so..

BH you can keep crying you lost to the white boy JC. But no matter how much JCs record is scrutinized, he will always have the win over BH.
ANd no matter how much BH defies age and how many upsets he causes, history will show he lost to JC. So people will assume JC would have beaten all the people BH beat. For example even though BH beat Pavlik, people will assume JC would have as well. Well why shouldnt he? Noone has beat him, including BH.

Your logic is of a 5 year old. So A beats B means A can beat C who was beat by B? Not quite. Calzaghe is still another overrated fighter, the only reason he's there is people like yourself who see color first and talent later. Calzaghe won a SD vs a 43 year old Hopkins. A decision which could easily go the other way. If anything Calzaghe looked bad in that fight. Now lets hope Jones get through him and we have the real important fight which is really relevant to the history books you talk about so much.

Calzaghe's power has long since deserted him, he's not at his best anymore.

Agreed. You and have a lot of views that are dead on. I think I agree with you 98% of the time on almost every topic. Especially on this thread.
