A bar environment is fun sometimes though. Although I agree some people get out of hand when there's alcohol flowing.

I was actually surprised to see PAVLIK vs HOPKINS in big letters at a few casinos around here in vegas, I know a few casinos who play HBO cards and showtime.

Its probably changed since then (mid 90's), but Im sure they still have to pay out the ass. NO place is going to make an investment if they don't think they'll see a return. To bad, I enjoy the atmosphere at a bar when there is a good fight on.

Those have been choppy for me usually. Beggers cant be choosers though. Sometimes I gets lucky with Sopcast. Vargas/Mayorga and Pavlik/Taylor II were flawless among others.

Depends on the bar for me. Nothing can beat a good bar atmosphere, I'll give you that.

But pick the wrong place and you could likely end up shooting yourself in the foot.

I haven't checked his streams in a while, he had some good ones a while back though.

I'll be digging later tonight for quality HBO broadcast streams, if I find anything I'll make a thread about it and keep it bumped.

Mr pain nailed the primary reason. Boxing charges sports bars too much. UFC charges $500 to show one of their shows and they make triple the amount when shown.

You also got mass against you. You can show boxing, but you can draw saw....fifty people off that tops. You got every high school and college wrestling team and college martial arts club watching UFC along with every legit independant MA club. That's really going to fill a good 3/4 of the place.

for those who's not watching the fight.

here's tua's play by play ahead of time.

bernard will make it boring grabbing and holding his way to a unanimous decision loss while punching 10 times a round.

he will later claim to have been robbed by the judges who actually score the fight closer in his favor than everyone else would.

                    the end.

You know how many drinks get bought a couple hours pre UFC PPV, the three hours it's on, and then til close? Crazy amounts of money. Enough for even my old small town, Crawfordsville, to show all of the PPVs...they show WWE too but they've never had a boxing card on. They just don't have the audience.
