One thing I envy about MMA...

Sports bars show their PPV fights all the time. I checked with three bars if they were showing the fight, and they all don't show boxing. I really don't want to throw 50 down on this, but I'd rather not watch a choppy stream either. Fack.

You mean to tell me B-dubs cant put boxing up on one of their 40 TV's? Just one?

I blame the undercard. I need at least one other fight that I'm really interested in unless it's one of my favorite fighters fighting. Calzaghe/Jones is the same. Garbage undercard = no money from me.

        Billy Dib? Seriously?

Here in Vegas the fight is being showed at a bunch of casinos and bars, I do agree that boxing needs to be shown in more bars. Problem is they charge the bars like 1500 bucks.

Back in Rhode Island bars were charged by their capacity. So if a bar held 300 people, multiply that by the price of the fight. At least thats how it was some years ago when my family owned a bar there.

**** man, they get you with the PPV regardless then. I had no idea it was that expensive just to show it at the bar. I'd be down with a cover charge or a rule that you have to have a bill of at least 10 dollars.

I don't know how it works at every place, I have talked to some bar owners who told me they have to pay big money that's why they don't carry very many ppv's.

I was actually surprised to see PAVLIK vs HOPKINS in big letters at a few casinos around here in vegas, I know a few casinos who play HBO cards and showtime.

I honestly couldn't care less. I'd rather watch a fight in my living room with some close buddies, or even by myself, than have to strain to hear the fight while some drunk dude gets in a scuffle 4 stools away from me.

For the record, my sister knows about Pavlik/Hopkins tomorrow. Keep in mind this is a girl who knows as much about boxing as I know about splitting atoms.
