I think Hop will counter him all night (well 25 times a round) and offset Pavlik's rhythm and take away his right hand maybe drop him.

    Hopkins UD

It's not impossible (Hopkins decision), but very unlikely. If it weren't for Pavlik's work rate and conditioning, I'd give Bernard at least a 50/50 chance at a win. As it stands, though, Pavlik is just going to be too active, wear him down, and knock him out. Bernard might resort to intentionally getting DQ'd to prevent a stoppage.

Hopkins can neutralize the work rate by tying up and using the ring( See Hopkins/Wright or Hopkins/Tarver for examples), therefore Pavlik would not have a target to find. I remember when Jermain made simply corrections in their rematch and won what many consider a controversial decision. Hopkins is 10X the boxer that Jermain is and Kelly has not fought anyone that gave him consistent movement. Too make it so bad, hes also fighting at his highest weight class. I just have that strange feeling.

haha i have that same feeling. That strange feeling in my gut. I just feel Pavlik looks at Hopkins as some old has been and is taking him lightly.

The feeling in my gut though could be the TNT super hot peperoni I ate last night too!LOL

That was good. Upsets normally catches us off guard, so now that we actually see it coming it probably won't happen. I never thought that Nate would beat Diaz.

I always thought Nate could win it, I just never thought he would. He always failed to win the big fights either by doing something ******, or just not taking his career seriously!LOL

On the other hand, i did have a feeling that Quintana would beat Williams in their first fight and it happened. The main thing is that Hopkins is a mover, on top of being a crafty veteran so i don't know how Pavlik will respond to being roughed up like that. Its the same feeling i had with Campbell and Juan Diaz. I remember looking over to my uncle and saying ''i have a bad feeling about this fight''. lol

Hopkins is going to get tired nearly as easily trying to shut Pavlik down as he would if he were returning punches. Pavlik is bigger, stronger, younger, in great condition, and can afford to waste some gas wrestling on the inside...Hopkins can't, not against someone with that kind of conditioning. I don't know why more people don't recognize that low-blow break Hopkins took against Calzaghe for what it was....a desperate attempt by an old man to finish on his feet. If it hadn't been for that, I'd still probably give Hopkins a decent chance at a controversial SD win, but not anymore. He aged a great deal against Calzaghe, he's just good at hiding it and not that many people noticed.

He'll start looking 35 years old within a few rounds, 43 years old by the 8th, and at the time of the stoppage, people in the crowd will start offering canes and wheelchairs.

Yeah his fight with Robbie Pedan was funny. I thought that Nate had a weak chin and was just a stay busy fight for Diaz, but somehow he put on a clinic. He didn't look like much when i seen him on ESPN, but its probably because i wasn't paying attention..lol

If Pavlik uses his reach advantage (yes he does have one, don;t go by boxrec) he can dictate the fight if he fights at his range. If he gets suckered into Hopkins fight, pavlik may lose, and lose early.

Just for show, they list Pavlik's and Bernards reach at 75", but Pav's arms are very long. I mean knuckle dragger long.

That photo shows you the arm length advantage.
