There's a reason they fight the fights. Same reason they go on and play the football games.

I never mind being wrong when I get to see a performance like that...I felt near humbled at ringside tonight, That's what great looks like. Honor to be there.

        Hopkins the legend

This is crazy. Now I know why Hopkins stared the media down after the fight. He had everything to prove. And that was that a man pushing mid forties could still take a young champ to school. Mostly all of the predictions had Pavlik winning. Hopkins defied odds and proved that he is a legend and will go down as one of the greatest fighters ever.

At age 43, Hopkins is 17-years older than the champion. Pavlik wants to put the executioner into retirement, and Hopkins wants to tame the young lion. [details]

            Damn....8 to 1

Looking back at this thread and the article, everyone thought Pavlik was going to beat Hopkins, maybe even by stoppage.

Wow, had no idea it was THAT much

Wow. I remember picking Pavlik to be the first guy to KO Hopkins. Boy was I wrong

                      Legendary night.

It's too bad for Pavlik and Calzaghe that Calzaghe blatantly ducked Pavlik. Who knows how their careers would have turned out.
