I was a fighter since I was 10 years old. I remember watching guys in my gym fighting and that really hooked me up with boxing. Also old Duran and Hagler fights. But what made me a hardcore fight fan was the Bowe-Holyfield and Tyson Holyfield fights.Comment

I grew up watching Hagler, Hearns, Duran and Sugar Ray. Was first a big middleweight fight fan until Iron Mike came along. But the fight I remember that actually got me hooked forever was the Nunn vs Kalambay first round knockout. I never missed many boxing televised fights after this.Comment

Originally posted by scapI just turned 26 and have been watching boxing for nearly two decades now. I used to go over to my uncles house who lived down the street at a very young age and watch/learn about the sweet science. My dad and uncle were huge fight fans and when they grew up they were best friends with a heavyweight contender named Boone Kirkman. Kirkman was semi successful fighting the likes of George Foreman, Jimmy Ellis...they worshiped Boone and still talk about him to this day, they always argue that Boone would have kicked ass in this era but after reviewing a lot of Boone tapes I have to diagree. So my dad and my uncle got me into this sport a long time ago and I fell in love with it, the very first fight I ever scored was Greg Haugen vs. Vinny Pazienza 1, I am from Seattle so Haugen was a big deal back when I was a little ****.
Anyways I would love to hear how all of you got to be so passionate about this sport, there is nothing I would rather do than watch a good prize fight!
I am young compared to a lot of people on here (22) i became obsessed with boxing after witnessing the first Holyfield vs. Tyson fight. I was astonished. I had seen boxing before, but not a war like that.Comment

I got into a fight with my girlfriend when I was about 13 and I hit her with a hook so hard and this guy at school says, "Wow you look like Joe Frazier." I went to find out who that was and ever since I saw him fight I became a fan of his style. I went to a gym to learn how to box. Got my ass kicked a dozen times and decided to stick to not fighting other guys. I rather watchComment
