      Big fan of yours, John.

Any tips on developing a Marlon Starling type defence?

Were you ever overly arrogant, Ice? I mean, you must have been. A peak, prime Iceman who had hung with the Jones' and Leonards of this world, and who was amazingly good looking. Be honest- were you a ****y bastard?

One more thing, Ice. You never asnwered my questions on Joe Calslapstick. What do you really think of him?

          Cheers, man.
Overly arrogant...I don't think I was ever arrogant...even when I would get done sparring with RJ or James Toney or Paz or whoever it was that day - even when I got the best of things on a particular day- ...or when I hung out with Ray, etc etc etc...I was probably as impressed by what happened as much as any fan who saw it happen woul dbe...even though I consider Ray a friend, for example, after I would be talking to him for a while i would walk away well aware that any boxing person in the world would LOVE to be in the position I was just in...I REALIZE boxing did that for me, I didn't do it for boxing. So I have been lucky to a certain degree.

Joe Calzaghe....good fighter, of course...maybe slaps some, sure...but he fights, he works in there, he's smart in there and I dont care what anyone says, he's beaten some good fighters (and some of the guys he beat weren't BIG names or unbeaten but I still know they were solid fighters). You gotta give JC his just due

Iceman, before a fight, did you used to spend much time watching tapes of your opponent and looking for weaknesses+working on a strategy?

To tell u the truth, I should have but I didn't...I used to get bored watching tapes sometimes...I see the benfits of it now more but back then I used to figure that whoever I was fighting was boxing the way they were because of the opposition. Fighters are different heights, reach, styles, power, etc...so how they fought against someone else would be different than how they would face me. I should have been more patient and just watched, though LOL

Well, I guess I am back....LOL...between 1982 and 2007 the only big fights I predicted correctly were DURAN over Davey Moore in 1983 and RJ over Toney in 1994....then in the last few months I had some good picks..I was looking like I was on a roll...looking smart...then BAM B-Hops comes along and looks 25 years old again. Looks like I am back in form, picking the big fights dead wrong

                    Ice,

How do you feel about James Toney? Specifically, how do you feel when you read articles on here about Toney talking **** about the Klitschkos and wanting to fight them?

hey ice. just got back from the gym. your lightweight boy definitely trains there. i have never met him though. i am only there in the mornings now, so its no surprise.

Ray can match your 132 and 139 guys this Saturday. No dice on our sparring session. He doesn't think it would be that beneficial for me to get worked like that, but I hope we can do it one day! you should still call him though to set it up officially. otherwise he'll assume its not happening. let me know if it works out, so I can make sure to come in Saturday and say whats up!
