And Tyson took a beating for ten like a man from an athlete who'd been around the sport his whole life and put together a once in a lifetime performance...even scored a knockdown...Wlad just fell out against Purrity and Brewster and was bombed by fat Sanders. If it came down to chin, even the most ardent Wlad fan can't pick against Tyson with a straight face.Comment

Tyson might beat Wlad, if he can get in past the jab without catching a right hand, and if he didn't get caught too many times by the jab, but Tyson didn't react well to being hit easily, even by a jab....tended to fall apart when things didn't go his way at all times.
Vitali/Tyson...Vitali is just too mobile for Tyson to be able to do anything but look ******. Mike's biggest key to success was being able to get inside quick without getting caught and unload a quick, accurat and powerful combination, shake his opponent up and finish him off. Vitali anticipates this too well, and by the time Tyson was where he needed to be, Vitali would've already backed off, caught Mike with a hook or a couple of jabs, and be looking for a place to put a right hand. To beat Vitali, you either have to have some skill that I don't know about, or you've got to be at least his size or bigger, or at least have a comparable reach (a'la Lewis), AND you've got to have comparable speed, power and skill.
Watch the Peter/Vitali fight again and see what he does when Sammy boy tries to get inside quick. He just hops back and catches him coming in. He would've done the same thing to Mike, only I think it would've ended even quicker because Mike ain't got the chin that Peter does. I tried to get this point across Saturday night, and I'll try again...Sam Peter isn't that bad. He may not be the most impressive heavy we have today, but he's no bum. He just looked bad because Vitali is very, very good at taking apart guys like him. Before the fight, there were maybe 3 or 4 of us that were saying "Peter is MADE for Vitali"...nobody listened, and even worse, even after we were proven right, they still aren't paying attention.Comment

No, but if it comes to technical advantages, even the most ardent Tyson fan couldn't pick him to beat Wlad. Tyson never saw anything like that size, power, handspeed, and technical perfection. And Tyson took a beating for ten like a man from an athlete who'd been around the sport his whole life and put together a once in a lifetime performance...even scored a knockdown...Wlad just fell out against Purrity and Brewster and was bombed by fat Sanders. This is a 50/50 fight at best for Tyson. Probabaly 65/35 in Wlad's favor is the sharp eye's most honest guess. Tyson doesn't match up well here.Comment

Vitali beats a prime Tyson about 98 times out of 100. Anyone who says differently is buying old myths and not actually analyzing the fightersTyson might beat Wlad, if he can get in past the jab without catching a right hand, and if he didn't get caught too many times by the jab, but Tyson didn't react well to being hit easily, even by a jab....tended to fall apart when things didn't go his way at all times.
