There will be no "percieved" great fighters left in Britain if Joe Calzaghe loses.

Bland? He meant proper football. Not crash-helmet, body-padding, rugby for girls "football" you lot play.
No need for explanation ballbag, but thanks for the thought. Are Indians/Pakistanis better than whites at cricket?

      Oh dear.
In that case, their centrepiece is very much in the same condition as the one in my gran's house. And that's been torn down in the next few weeks ....

By top ten guy you must mean p4p top 10. And how many Americans are in the p4p top ten, ooooh one more, 2 AFAIK. With 5x the population you'd expect 5x the amount in the top ten p4p, especially for so called more athletic nation, and mecca of boxing!?

You seem to mis interpret the word elite. Elite is performing at the top level, and there's numerous that do in their respective divisions, and are top ten there.

Joe Calzaghe - Number one LHW and was #1 SMW. P4P #3 and favoured over most from 160-175.

Ricky Hatton was in the p4p top ten before he lost to the p4p #1, he knows not far outside and will climb up into again soon no doubt. He's #1 in his division, and a few spots behind him is Junior Witter.

Nicky Cook is #7 in the Jr Lightweights having just beat Alex Arthur for the WBO belt.

Carl Froch is roughly #2 SMW taking a mean from most bodies and peoples views, he'll soon be a world title holder beating another top 10 ten division guy in Pascal and is only just getting going.

Clinton Woods is #7 LHW and has had some good wins over for eg. Johnson. He put out a bad performance recently against Tarver but he still wasn't knocked out by Tarver a big hitter. May fight again.

Enzo Maccrinelli is currently the #8 CW having lost to David Haye. He should have another title shot next year and will rise further.

David Haye was the #1 CW having unified the belts. He's already fought at HW and had some big fights ahead.

Having actually won numerous medals in the olympics there's also clearly guys on the way up. Considering a population a 5th of the size, to have top guys in so many divisions, many coming through, it's pretty decent. You probably didn't even know a few of those names or details on them.

David Haye and maybe some of our Olympic boxers will start turning pro soon... there'll always be at least 1 boxer over here who has the masses support

British people don't love boxing they love fighters. Most british boxing fans are Hatton or Calzaghe fans not boxing fans, most of them can't even name De La Hoya, I lived there for a few years so i'm speaking from experience
