i think MMA fighter are more likely to suffer short term injuries (football like injuries), while boxing is more dangerous long term.
the fact that MMA fighters aren't given a 10 count usually saves them from taking repeated shots to the headComment

I was with a group of friends last week fliping channels back and forth between mma and boxing. I have actual hands on expierience in both but several of my friends do not. The ones that didn't were suprised of the violent nature of mma and felt it was way more damaging to the body than boxing. What do you think?
Ask Leavander Johnson's widow if she would have rather seen him in a 15 minute fight than a 36 minute one...Comment

hell ya, most of those MMA guys when they turn 50-60 years old will have arthritis and some kinda hip or joint problem for the rest of their life. in MMA they twist your limbs, chock you, slam you, kick you its way brutal then boxing.
in boxing they mostly get hand problems and brain damage...but if your very slick you can avoid getting brain damage.
hit and dont get hit.Last edited by ANDROID_DOES; 10-12-2008, 06:49 PM.Comment

your a ****en moron! MMA is no where as punishing as boxing!!! The use of bigger gloves allows for more punishment. MMA a fight can be over in 3 seconds from one punch. Not much damage there. twelve rounds coming out with ****ed up ribs, busted face, cuts no way in hell is MMA more punishing than boxing. YOur a fake boxing fan and an MMA fan boy. Do us all a favor and ban yourself from this site and go post at u f c .comComment
