Dawson's a good guy - and he respected Tarver a lot more after going 12 rounds with him.

I think it was more the case of Tarver losing the fight for himself..........by not giving himself a chance.......by not throwing ****ing punches.

What fight did you watch. Dawson was incredible. When was the last time you saw someone throw combos like that in any weightclass above middleweight. Dawson tried to KO him but remember Tarvey has never been KO'd before. Glen Johnson couldnt do it, Roy Jones couldnt do it. Hes got a good chin

on point. I thought Dawson did exactly what he said he would do.

Dawson won unanimously, but I don't like how he just gives away rounds and also the fact that he isn't a fluid boxer and unworthy of being p4p #1 just based on his current athleticism and skills. he does not fluidly move between offense and defense. giving away rounds is a sign that stamina is an issue. also he needs to rematch glen johnson.

Tarver actually looked better in that fight then he has in a few years IMO. He was highly motivated and he really wanted to win this fight. He caught Dawson with some good punches in the third round and landed a hard counter right hand in the 6th so he was definitely throwing. He also came on pretty strong in the 12th (after the knockdown) and was letting his hands go, even catching Chad with a nice uppercut.
