Hopkins Hopes Experience Will Guide Him Past Pavlik

Former middleweight and light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins scoffs at those that say he’s lucky to still be fighting at 43 years old. Having overcome both personal and professional hardships in his life, Hopkins argues that his longevity in boxing is only a testament to his work ethic. [details]

... And i hope Pavlik smashes him .. I bit on the "Lets cheer for grandpa" angle when he fought Tarver, but his **** is getting old and i look forward to him retiring.

Pavlik better land those brutal right hand body shots or he will fall right into Hopkins trap. I want Pavlik to shut B-Hop down once and for all but I think Hopkins is going to pull off the biggest upset of the year. Pavlik showed me in the Taylor rematch that he does not wear the extra weight well.

I've gone back and fourth in my predictions for this fight but I'm going to pick B-Hop to win by decision. He's the bigger man and nothing like what Pavlik's faced before.

I can never count out the ol' mongoose in that ring. People can criticize his age and the things he does that makes for it in the ring, but those factors can neutralize his opponent's best weapon or tactic. He's never failed doing so even when he loses. We'll see how Pavlik can adjust his game. This fight gets closer to call the closer it gets. Mentally, Hopkins won't ever lose.

the best i have seen from a 40 year old bernard was when he demolished tarver, but would that kind of performance be enough to win against pavlik? im sure B-hop will use his "experience" *wink*(clinches and dirty tactics) in order for him to win.

This is probably gonna pay for his new house or set of cars or hopefully help one of his kids away from boxing into college or something.
However lets us not be fooled here, there is no point in him having this fight but to be a stepping stone for Pavlik en route to a Calzaghe clash which is what everyone wants to see.

Personally i just hope Bernard doesn't play brave and if he goes down, he stays there and live unscathed to fight again for a Dawson or some other young star needing a bigger name. Because that's what he is now.

Pavlik throws a lot and can be countered, but does Hopkins have the reflexes to do it anymore? And even tho Kelly is a power puncher, he ain't a wild slugger who throws wideass punches. I'm sure B-Hop will give him a go but I can't see him winnin this.

Pavlik wins but doesn't knock him out
