Hmmm, Yeah but when Frazier would go underneath that was his full body weight hitting you with everything, Frazier perfected the art of the left hook and 90/95% of the time if it hit you wound't get back up.Now Wlad is a huge puncher and one of the biggest around today but i think if they both land perfectly i think Frazier's hook is a harder punch.
Wlad vs Ali who wins and why?

Tunney and VIVA should have a lovechild. It would be a tremendous occasion.
Of course, the child would be black....

Shavers said he hit Ali with some of the hardest punches he ever threw but nothing could get the man down. That was Shavers' best performance in my opinion.Let me say this. Wlad doesn't have a glass chin, nor does he have a weak heart. Ali was hurt by Jones, Cooper, Bonavena, and Frazier, all weighing around or under 200 lbs. Ali was never hit by one of Foreman's big shots the chin just as he was never hit by one of Shaver's best shots to the chin. that being said, I say Ali beats him in pretty much the same manner he beat Terrell in. I really don't think he could have stopped Wlad if cuts weren't involved, and I think Wlad would be very hard for Ali to hit cleanly to the head if he were in a defensive mode because of his size. But Ali wins all the same as long as we aren't talking about the Ali that fought Holmes lol
Foreman landed some big ones as well.Last edited by TheGreatA; 10-11-2008, 03:39 AM.Comment

Shavers may have thrown some of the hardest rights he ever threw, but how they landed is another story. I have seen this fight but I'm going to keep watching for a big Shavers right that Ali walks through. Foreman never landed a very hard punch to Ali's chin, there was just a pretty hard left hook he landed to the side of Ali's head that never hurt him. But the point wasn't whether Wlad could hurt him, (I think he could but wouldn't be able to hit him)
I just posted that to make a point, that Wlad didn't have a glass chin and that Ali had been hurt in a couple of his fights.Comment

Shavers said the right at 2:00 was as well placed as the right against Holmes.
Another big right at 4:20.
I don't see Wladimir and the majority of other heavyweights taking those punches from Shavers.Comment

I think you're right but the right at 2:00 was different from the one he landed on Holmes because Holmes wasn't moving away, regardless of what Shavers said.Comment

Anybody arguing about Ali's beard needs to leave. (Not you Manchine).
This might the greatest KO that wasn't.
Just skip ahead to the 2 minute 16 second mark.Comment

Agreed but as far as landing accurately on the chin, that punch was one of his best. Ali never saw it coming.
I think Holmes was throwing an uppercut when Shavers landed which made it even worse.Comment

Was that a right hand or what? LOL
Thanks for that vid and your input ManchineComment
