  • All-Time Ranking at 135: Shane Mosley or Jose Luis Castillo

Mosley was obviously the more talented guy, was undefeated at the weight, and would be favored H-2-H over Castillo. However, Mr. I Can't Make Weight's resume at 135 takes an Al Bundy **** all over Mosley's resume at 135. JLC fought a who's who of lightweight during his time there, fighting the best guys around.

    Castillo. That resume was beast.

Mosley's resume is dependent on beating a bunch of bad fighters. We don't know how beastly he was at 135, because he never fought a great fighter at that weight to test himself out.

Castillo definitely had the better resume but Mosley definitely had the better talent and his resume was OK as well, I'd rank Mosley ahead.

JLC and I'd pick JLC to beat SSM at 135.

I would say castillo resume is a bit more impressive at 135 with wins over Johnston, Bazan, Casamoyer and Lazcano and losses to Corrales, Mayweather. Compared to Shanes less extensive but almost as impressive comp of Holiday, Molina and Leija. But it is how they fared against their respective competition that is what seperates them in my opinion.

In his biggest fights at lightweight Castillo was almost always in a life or death struggle. Fights that were close. Mosely on the other hand pretty much destroyed the comp he fought at lightweight in highlight reel fashion.

Longevity and strength of comp go slightly in Castillo's favor. Who was more dominant is Mosely all the way.

I also have no reason to believe that Mosely would fare any worse against Castillo's comp, and in fact believe he would do better. Based on these thing I think I would rank Shane ahead Of Jose, though I have no idea by how much or where I would place either one of them.

                Castillo

I'd also pick a prime Castillo to beat LW Mosley.

There are few current fighters wit Castillo's resume today, and Castillo made Floyd look human for one night

I think Mosley would hit him with about twice as many punches. He would probably drop him too
