(by successful i mean win a belt or two, beat pavlik or abraham)
Hey man, a lot of us are still waiting for him to fight best welters, let alone the best middles.

Because Mayweather will get hit sooner or later by a middleweight. Mayweather has better defense, but as I said, skill only takes you so far.

And Duran wasn't shot or near shot at that point, he was shot around the mid to late 90s when he fought Joppy, Duran went on to have a good win over Jorge Fernando Castro and a controversial loss to Hector Camacho, not signs of a shot fighter.
duran had an excellent chin yes but he had been stopped by hearns and the wear and tear of a long career had softened his chin up....if he could still take big punches after that with his slightly worse chin i think floyd who hasnt been down if im not mistaken probably could also..floyd has no wear and tear, roberto had heaps when he was at middleweight and he still won a belt so why couldnt floyd

floyd has an excellent chin, even when he gets caught clean he still takes it well, i dont think hes ever even been down like i said ...and not ever being knocked down cant be attributed wholly to his D, he has been caught clean and still taken it well

He took flush shots from Barkley and went nowhere, although he was seriously hurt once, Hearns just happened to be one of the biggest punches the sport has had in the past 50 years, if he lands the right shot flush, his opponent is going out, especially in the lower weight classes and Duran didn't get knocked out against until 1998 against William Joppy.

Mayweather's chin hasn't really been tested, he got caught by Judah and he went down, it was ruled a slip, he got caught by Corley and got stunned, what would happen if a middleweight hit him?

I thought he was more than stunned by Corley I think - he was hurt; I'll never forget that look on his face.

Also towards the end of the 11th in their fight, Oscar landed a terrific right that hurt Floyd as well. Definitely stunned him. Very, very telling punch.

As Silencers noted, he could rack up some wins but the top names would be too much.
