That's not true... Castillo won a tune-up fight after the Hatton fiasco... he was shot as ****.

Plus, what he said is true, you can look great against a nobody, even if you are diminished.

But, on the flip side, looking great against a nobody doesn't necessarily mean that you aren't going to keep looking great against a great fighter, right?

When you dig that hard to find one round and want it to be so much more than it is.

To finish off what I began last night, McGirt has an incredible amount of insight on the trio that is Roy, Tarver and Hopkins. Needless to say, I picked his brain for hours.

I've mentioned this before but a lot of people don't realize that even the welterweight McGirt (fighter, not trainer) used to say that he knew HOW to beat Roy Jones. Seemed ****** then but funny how things work out. To quote McGirt, if someone printed up the physical speciman needed to beat Roy Antonio Tarver's frame would be the blueprint. Tall, southpaw, rangy with power...but a counterpuncher by nature. And that was key.

Anyway, he said the problem was getting Jones to open up. When he saw Roy take an aggressive posture in the rematch, he said he knew Tarver was going to knock him out. That he purposely told Tarver in the corner to stop giving him too much respect because he knew Antonio would remember that from the first fight. In the third fight, he said Roy's plan was to wait Antonio out and wear him down to try and stop him late. Said that he was very worried in the fifth because he felt Roy growing increasingly confident and fighting like it. So he told Tarver in the corner to get dirty, get rough. It worked because Jones went in a shell for about 3-4 rounds. Incidentally, he also pointed out that the right hook Tarver landed in the eleventh was HUGE because he felt the fight was turning in Jones' favor.

Finally, when asked who he thought would win a rematch between Roy and Bernard he said, "Roy." Asked about who would win the fourth match between Roy and Tarver, he was quiet for about five seconds before saying "I don't know." This was right before Jones fought Hanshaw.

Joe C can't **** so RJ ain't gotta be nervous in that fight. I actually see him as the stronger guy in this one. The man ain't what he was but he ain't shot yet.

Since when can Calzaghe not ****? He's scored 32 knockouts in 45 wins, he hurt Kessler with a body shot, hurt Lacy repeatedly, he wore down Hopkins down the stretch, I think his power is being underestimated, he does have power when he sits down on his shots, when he was an up and coming prospect, he was being labeled a power puncher and as we all know, Jones doesn't take the best punch nowadays.
