Juarez is the first guy that came to mind for me.

While I see your point, even though Juarez hasn't beaten that top guy he hasn't really been forced to fight up and coming contenders yet either. He's still getting chances to be a champion. See what I mean?

When he can no longer get the championship fights and falls back a notch or two. Yeah, he'd be close to gatekeeper status.

But Clottey at welterweight is a little too elite at this moment in time (even if it's not the complete top of the list elite) to be a gatekeeper.

He could easily become one. But he def is not one right now.
Holy crap man! Who the hell said Clottey was anything even close to a gatekeeper? He's the most skilled welter out there at the moment and probably the greatest threat among all the WW's and he's one of the champions!

I don't think Clottey will become a gatekeeper any time soon either. He's only just won his world title and probably looking at the biggest fights of his career soon. Whoever said he is a gatekeeper is daft. He hasn't even really lost properly yet so how could anyone say he even could be one? He was disqualified in his only other loss apart from the Marg loss which was as much injury as anything. It was a pretty BS DQ as well in Baldomir's hometown and Clottey was beating him handily up until then.

Yes, good point. He has also been able to beat the up and coming guys he's fought so he's not actually at true gatekeeper status yet. I still think Nate Campbell was the best gatekeeper in boxing. Constantly facing the young prospects, but beating them all!

Rizi Riz was the guy who claimed Joshua Clottey was a gatekeeper.

And even worse, Tha greatest said Jermain Taylor was a gatekeeper.

Eh? Taylor? How in the hell could Taylor possibly be a gatekeeper? He was an undefeated young champion until losing to Pavlik and that's it so far.

Clottey and Taylor as gatekeepers? Them's is some pretty good gatekeepers. They don't even have to face any young guys to prove their gatekeeper status either. Good for them.

Your are such a f***ing idiot. Are you a Pavlik fan? Well he was nearly out (almost any other ref would have stopped that fight, thank god he didn't though) and Kelly pulled out a close victory in the rematch. So ****, he must be pretty close to gatekeeper status too.

Jermain's a once removed ex-champ that's 1 fight away from being back in line for a shot at another championship. WHERE DO YOU SEE GATEKEEPER IN THAT?

Was I a Floyd fan? No, not particulary. Was the man pound for pound number 1? Yes, he was. So I can appreciate that.

Think before you talk to me, b****.
