He always won so impressively, usually early KOs.

Some of those opponents like Hide, Johnson, Williams, Mahone, and Hoffmann were actually highly regarded and/or undefeated at the time he fought them.
Kirk Johnson had never been behind on the scorecards in any fight, and had only one DQ loss.

Vitali's the only one to ever stop or knock down Larry Donald, and the only one to stop Vaughn Bean.

I think one thing that has to be looked at if you are hoping that Wladimir collects all the belts...

It is one extra fight that Wladimir has to wait to get the WBC belt if Vitali gets it and then retires.

Because Wladimir already has the IBF and WBO belts, he can't be ranked by the WBC, meaning he can't be in the vacancy fight for the WBC title belt. Then we have a whole new can of worms about whether the winner of the vacant belt will fight Wladimir or not.

Plus... didn't Peter say he wanted Wladimir Klitschko after the Chagaev fight? But of course, sanctioning body mandatories always get in the way...

I just want Wladimir to get all 4 belts, because even though I don't particularly like him a bunch, I think it is impossible to say that he is not head and shoulders above everyone else and that he easily deserves to be considered the only champion in the division.

well if Tunney's scenario plays out .. where David Haye (who's ranked I believe 4 or 5 by the WBC) fights and wins the belt ... Haye wants to be Undisputed, and he's gotta go through Wlad to do that.

on top of that, and regarding the bold. Why wouldn't the winner want to face Klitschko? not only is Wlad considered to be the best heavyweight, but I would have to think fighting him would net the biggest pay day.

Plus... didn't Peter say he wanted Wladimir Klitschko after the Chagaev fight? But of course, sanctioning body mandatories always get in the way...

what? Chagaev got hurt anyway, and is lined up to fight Valuev at the moment. but you were saying Peter wanted to go for Chagaev .. then Wlad? did not know

yeah really, it was nice seeing Ibragimov go down, as I don't like him too much, but we need some of the other champs going after each other to clean this Heavyweight muck up .. even if it's for 2-3 months it would be nice to see an undisputed Heavyweight champ

Dude... you really have to start using the quote function... your posts are kind of hard to follow...

I meant Maskaev... not Chagaev. My fault on that.

The only thing I really have to say to this post is that if the vacancy winner would for sure want to unify, then that means that Peter should want to unify for sure as well, because it is the biggest payday.

If not... then there is a chance that a King fighter could get the vacant WBC title too.

Idk, I mostly just want Wladimir to get all 4 belts... If I was a Wladimir fan, I would be irritated beyond belief at Vitali Klitschko, but that is just me.

how do I quote it up? I've had this occasional bad habit of getting my response stuck inside the quote .. if you get me (the gray area)

dunno how the hell it happens, but trust me, it's happened one too many times

**and I was assuming that Haye would fight for + win the WBC belt. and if you haven't heard Haye wants to be Undisputed Heavyweight champ

no idea if the actual vacant title winner will for a fact want to go for Wlad.

and to relate it to Peter, well he's said in interviews that he wants to unify .. so who knows if that was all BS or he actually wants to do it.

**the business side of boxing is where things get sticky. and if Don King getting in the way really is a factor, then Sam Peter probably won't face Wlad.

im just saying though ... don't a great deal of Elite boxers talk about winning titles, and facing the best?

granted that doesn't get to happen all the time, but what bigger fight at Heavyweight is out there for the WBC champ^ then a Unification vs Wlad

^(be it Vitali, Peter, or a vacant holder etc)

it doesn't just make boxing sense (in fighting the best)
but financially it would be quite a pay day

and right Wlad needs that "closure" of getting the other 2 belts, and his brother winning one of them, gets in the way of that ... as Wlad needs the WBC for undisputed purposes.

FYI... just go to the bottom of the post... there should be two lines of space already and just start typing at the bottom. It's easier to follow one thing of text like mine... but put a couple of lines of space in between where you change arguments.

It's hard to pick out what's in the middle and what's not. Haha, you'll get it.

Dwiens one of the many problems with the alphabet boys is, as you pointed out, they dont rank other champions. If boxing wants to get more legitimacy with the mainstream getting these groups to cooperate and allow fighters to unify on a regular basis can only help the sport. Unfortunately the only times these organizations sanction unification fights is usually big payoffs, like Lewis-Holy, the middleweight tourney starring Tito, or any other big name star that holds a belt or 2 and wants more.

Didn't read the whole post or any posts in this thread....

But the 1 thing I did read... hope for unification? Wlad has been the best Heavyweight for like 4 years now and hasn't gotten all of the belts or even showed a real attempt it.... but he'll start now?
