The reason why tito doesnt like cotto cuz around 4-5 yrs ago. he kept on getting that hes the next trinidad. all he said was im not trinidad, gomez, benitez. Im miguel cotto and i want to write my own history.

and Tito being the fake ignorant hick that he is took it up the ass.
and since then holds a grudge.

Tito is jealous of cotto. cuz 1.tito never filled the full 20,000 plus at MSG

2.Everytime Tito stepped up in class wheather it was DLH, Bhop or winky or Jones a fight where it was pretty even going in HE LOST! In front of 18,000 at MSG BHOP took him to skool. DLh was taking him to school in the 1st 8 rounds. winky just put the cherry on top of the cake.

cotto fought mosley a fight where alot of ppl were picking shane, cotto beat him.

all of tito's losses he got dominated not even in the fight.

plus cotto has a military backround where smiling is a weakness as well as laughing. thats why hes soo serious alot of the time and he dont trust alot of ppl.

I kept telling many people over here (family and friends). As soon as Cotto lost, some wrote him off as a loser, a nobody, a sucker. Truth was, while Tito didn't get as battered as Cotto whenever he lost (Hopkins, Wright, Jones), whenver Tito lost a fight, he lost it convincingly.Tito's first loss was worse than Cotto's. Trinidad was embarrassed (and I bet surprised) by Hopkins' boxing ability, and it wasn't like De la Hoya where it was just boxing and light flurries, Hopkins throughout the course of the fight got in some monster punches and hurt Tito on a few occasions...but here's the thing: the fight was boring (pretty lopsided) and Tito never EVER gave us the impression that he could win this fight as it was being carried out (save for his money punch) but after 5 or 6 rounds I think many gave up hope. Then, as if the embarrassment wasn't enough, Tito was sent to the canvas in the final round in a monsterous knockdown. He got up, but he was out of it and his corner stopped the fight. He was embarrassed, got a TKO loss (on top of the fact that he would've lost it REGARDLESS of a knockdown or no knockdown) and the man who beat him...was a guy...who went to his country in San Juan...and threw the Puertorrican flag on the floor. It was like having your bike stolen, sending your big brother out to beat him up, and then your brother being beat up in the process...the bully got the last laugh.

The Cotto/Margarito fight, while I am Puertorrican, was an entertaining fight. Not as pointless action hiding incompetence, BOTH fighters in the fight had their moments, it was a boxer/puncher match-up, but the boxer could actually punch. What we got for 11 rounds was back-and-forth, give-and-take candidate for fight of the year. Cotto actually gave us the sense that he would win this fight, even if Margarito was closing in during the later rounds. Cotto landed big shots, which was why everyone was talking about Antonio's chin the next day...at work, at school, in the University, everywhere. Margarito got in piercing uppercuts to the body that was subtlely hurting Cotto and the Puertorrican star fought until there was nothing else to give. The only bad aspect about this fight would probably be that Cotto's first loss was in TKO fasion in a fight with nationalistic implications...which is why, looking back in history, Gómez's first loss was painfully upsetting, given the style of the loss, the nationality of his opponent and the surprise of it all considering Gómez had 32 straight knockouts when he fought him.

Bottom line: Tito was a tremendous champion and I respect him for it, he was a big sensation back when I was still junior high, but his whenever he loses he doesn't even seem to put up a fight and I cringe at the fact that he probably did more numbers (pay-per-view) here in Puerto Rico for his fight with Jones compared to Cotto's fight with Mosley 2 months earlier.
Cotto lost his last fight, but anyone would be ignorant to say that he didn't put up a great fight and gave a concerted effort to win it. What puertorricans and mexicans got was en entertaining fight, great two way action and a match that definitely lived up to the hype surrounding it.

santos has never been loved here for several reason but i will mention just 3


1- he was in the same era that tito was doing his thing so it was pretty difficult from him to shine.

2- After he got almost knock the fu-ck out by margo in their 2nd fight... everybody put him aside. Cos he won that fight... but in the REAL BOXING FANS MIND he lost... he was on his way to get KTFO.... and please quoteme on this YES IM SAYING THAT MARGO WAS ROB ON THEIR 2ND FIGHT

3- After that ****ti fight.. he just got to ****y... and start doing a few things outside of the ring...(pretending to be a big shot) and his long inactive periods that everybody forgot about him... and it was the beggining of the cotto era...

so saying that PR has no love unless u have a championship is bull****....
