I see it a little different. If Kessler gets one or two good tuneup fights against a tough hard fighter(s), then he will prepare himself for Pavlik properly.

Make no mistake, Pavlik will drag him into the trenches. Kessler will have to dig deep if he is to beat him, it will not be an easy go.

If Kessler keeps fighting the current crop and jumps into a big fight with Pavlik, he will lose. If he properly toughens himself up mentally and physically against other tough opponents, he will be prepared and has a very solid chance.

Nice analysis, but try the other way around. Pavlik has fought Gary Lockett and now a completely shot Hopkins. That's pretty lousy tune-ups by your definition.

Well Lockett is yes, but Hopkins will drag him into the trenches, especially early. Old Hopkins is still a huge task for anyone to overcome. That old cat has many tricks in his bag. Hopkins is older but definitely not shot.

Hopkins has no stamina. Pavlik should KO him before round 10 IMO. Kessler's 'tune-ups' has been of better value IMO.

Pavlik is not a stamina machine like Joe. Joe's stamina beat Hopkins, nothing else. Pavlik gets a little tired late in fights, look at the second Taylor fight as an example.

I would be absolutely shocked if Pavlik was to stop Hopkins. I just don't see it happening and I feel that Pavlik has a far better chance at losing than Bernard being knocked out. Bernard is still very crafty and extremely hard to hit cleanly.

Pavlik will also come out of the fight more worse for wear than Hopkins. Pavlik will be marked up and wear the results of the fight, but still win a decision.

He sure did. I also say Hopkins will give him the fight of his life, at least for the first 6-8 rounds. Pavlik will get tired right along with Hopkins. Hopkins is still hard to hit even when tired.

No way Pavlik will stop him.

That is not always predictable either. I thought Taylor would school Pavlik twice, and I was wrong twice. I thought Pavlik, a slow and clumsy dude, would finally be the guy who would allow Taylor to shine.

Most often it comes down to a battle of will and confidence I guess.
