Pavlik vs Kessler : In US : SMW : WBA Title : Who Wins?

Some yanks have gotten on top of things. And tried to compare resumes. Obviously Pavlik has a better resume. Although Kessler hasn't got the opportunity to fight Jermain Taylor because he wasn't in the same division.

If this fight happens who wins?

I think Kessler would take a UD.

Pavlik KO or UD, if Calzaghe can hurt you with a body shot says a lot.

If Joe Calzaghe can hurt Kessler, you better belive Pavlik can too. Calzaghe is far from his younger self. His hands are completely broken... He has done many interviews and he talks about how broken his hands are in like every interview and why he slaps the way he does(though the slapping doesn't bother me because I still find calz to be entertaining)

I'll just copy and paste my post from BatTheMan's thread.

It would be a close fight, Kessler is the better boxer of the two but Pavlik's pressure could get to Kessler as the fight goes on and Kessler doesn't box as well while going backwards so it'd be a close, interesting fight.

Kessler UD, better skillset, slightly less power IMO but faster

you could also say Taylor had Pavlik on the verge of being ko`d, the same Taylor who couldnt put a dent in Little Ouma and Spinks,

                  works both ways,

I see it a little different. If Kessler gets one or two good tuneup fights against a tough hard fighter(s), then he will prepare himself for Pavlik properly.

Make no mistake, Pavlik will drag him into the trenches. Kessler will have to dig deep if he is to beat him, it will not be an easy go.

If Kessler keeps fighting the current crop and jumps into a big fight with Pavlik, he will lose. If he properly toughens himself up mentally and physically against other tough opponents, he will be prepared and has a very solid chance.
